The Airport tv series is quite old, most of the episodes are from 2000 I think. There has been more scope in the past to deal with citizens from countries who do not require a tourist visa to enter the UK as they could change their status whilst in the UK without a problem - I'm sure there are many...

Re: Nadine refused Mumbai flight due to visa

Nadine Coyle has not been allowed on a flight to Mumbai because she forgot to sort out her visa. The Girls Aloud star was supposed to be visiting her on-off boyfriend Jesse Metcalfe, but was refused entry onto the plane at Heathrow airport. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/a80385/nadine-refused-...

That is unusual . Can you tell us what time (date)this heathrow documentry was on??? I mean really the Uk wouldn't allow any one in (black or white) if they openly admit they are going to work in the Uk without a Workpermit, I mean seriously that Immigration officer would be sacked! Globocentro, I wouldn't necessarily jump to the conclusion that Poland is full of dearly beloved based on 'poor customer service' (if I may call it that) from an immigration officer and rude behaviour from others. It may have had nothing to do with beloved... you might have simply been unlucky enou...

They emmigrate to a better country, only to be-little and be prejudice against non-white "foreigners". A foreigner in another country making fun of a foreigner for being a foreigner, now that is gold. You get that in all countries, though, including Asian ones. I spent a couple of month i...

Re: dearly beloved polish immigration officer

I am very surprised to hear that.I was only asked one question when i passed through passport control in Sweden. The officer didnt even asked for my return ticket. He was very friendly towards me as well. The most surprising thing is that i actually cleared immigration at Malmo Airport, not Stockholm...

The "good" news is that on Dec 21st Poland and the other 2004 EU states are joining Schengen, which should mean less hassle (that is if you ever want to go there again haha). The airports join the zone a few months later though (i.e. the 21 Dec date applies to land border crossing). I wil...

Or it could have been all the above. ...

beloved is a very blatant thing, there is no subtlety to it. This is not true. There is lots of subtle, yet equally destructive and hateful beloved around. However, in this case, I can see no reason why the OP thought the immigration officer's behaviour was racially motivated. I would be angry at s...
