Does anyone know what a good yearly wage would be for a EU Citizen who wants spouse to join, by that what would be more favourable- some might say it dont matter but i doubt that- is 24k per annum, 40k or 60 k- is it a case of the more the better chance your spouse has. From a legal point of view i...

im going to moldova :) thancks If you are flying to Moldova, and you are a Moldovan citizen, you will not need a visa for that. If you have a valid GNIB card, you will not need a re-entry visa for Ireland, either. Does your flight have stops? If so, are these in EU countries or not? For each stop i...

Congratulations cantaro! Thank you! Critical question: Before moving to Ireland, did you and your wife live together anywhere else in the EU, and subsequently both of you moved to Ireland together? Or was the setup different? Yes, we lived together in Germany for one year immediately before moving ...

If I recall correctly, "Stamp 4" is the national Irish "leave to remain", and "Stamp EU4Fam" is the stamp for EU1. Today my wife and I went to the GNIB to collect the stamp and the residence card. The officer explained to us that the actual stamp in the passport is a c...

Re: Schengen Visa required? (complicated situation; plz help

Off the top of my head: for visiting purposes, there are no more national visa within the Schengen space. A visitor visa for one Schengen country automatically entitles the holder to visit all Schengen countries. Therefore any health insurance must be valid for the entire Schengen space. I suppose y...

Re: Where in Europe shall we move to?

Let's fire ahead. :) In my experience, the Netherlands are generally a clean place with friendly people, most of which happen to speak enough English so that you can get by in everyday life. For getting a job there, however, you will almost always need a certain level of Dutch, unless the job in que...

Re: same here

I think there is some misunderstanding here as to whom the provisions of Directive 2004/38/EC really apply. Generally they apply to any citizen of a participating country (and their relatives) in relation to any participating country other than that of which they are a citizen . Therefore, if Heike ...

I'm German with a Turkish husband who just got his 4EUFam card today. We both live and work in Ireland. I checked Germany's visa rules and it states that spouses of EU-nationals but NOT Germans who have this 4EUFam card do not need a visa if they are travelling together. I checked with the embassy ...

If he's from a visa waiver country, will they check for a return ticket at the airport immigration? In my (limited) experience, Immigration do not check whether someone has a return ticket. The airlines already do that because they face a fine if they fly someone that is not entitled to enter the d...
