Mike, Sorry to hear of your problems. However, I can assure you that six hours is not long for a decision to be made on a case. Especially if it happened to be a busy day. Often the IO has to undertake a lot of enquiries including interviews. In fact you and your g/f should count yourselves lucky th...

The poster has been given, what we in the trade call, a coded landing as opposed to a straightforward code 5N. What this does is alert the next IO who comes across the poster that there were some doubts about his intended visit, but these were not sufficient to lead to an outright refusal. The IO wi...

A few questions Berlingoodman,

1. What was the date in April of your refusal of entry.
2. When you were given the refusal of entry notice was mention made of a 10 year ban.
3. Did you at any time attempt to conceal the real reason for your entry to the UK in April or in anyway attempt deception.

A lot of IOs are not actually aware of the rule which exempts EEA FP holders from the landing card requirement. If you consider filling the card particularly onerous then you might wish to argue the point with an ignorant IO. However, you might be delayed until you prove your point, but if you love ...

Re: planning to marry in the US, but not remain - how to ent

Basically I will be entering the US under the visa waiver scheme, but with complete honesty, I will state that I am intending to marry, but not to remain. That's a silly thing to do. You are under no obligation to tell them anything unless they ask you (if you are not planning to do something illeg...

aranjan, Simply put, you have one of two choices. Either you get the visa for your child in the UK before you leave or you get the visa in India before your child attempts to come back to the uk. If you do neither, then the chances are your child will not even be allowed on the plane in India unless...

Re: Belgium Type D Visa

Is the card issued by the commune sufficient Yes, it acts as a Schengen Visa (and should also act as a visa for the UK and Ireland, though they currently refuse to accept them as such) and when presented with her passport will allow her in and out of the Schengen States. Point of correction, an EU ...

Aplmac, I'M afraid your imagination is doing some overtime. Passports are swiped for identification purposes and validity. It does if issued for more than 6 months I believe.

Maximum period for a visit is 6 months, so any leave granted for more than six months would not be a visit.

Anyone who has continuing leave in the UK, that is leave to enter/remain for more than six months is certainly not required to have a return ticket.
In fact, having a return ticket is not even a condition of entry as a visitor.

It is not as simple as that. In practice you must not wok more than 12 months in the 24 month period. You can break it up however you like. So for example you may wish to work the initial two months and then not work again for several months and then go back to work. So long as you don't exceed 12 m...
