Re: Citizenship applications - return of passports

I mailed my passport application on March 16th from New Jersey, USA. It sort of fell into a limbo because of the pandemic, though I did know they were working on it because the embassy called my notary to confirm he saw me sign in. He notified me about the call so I was confident they still had it. ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

OK thanks. I'm guessing 5 months considering the impact of the virus on things. Thankfully I'm not on a particular timetable. If it hasn't already been added into the passport application tracking system I'm guessing that happens when the application arrives in Ireland for processing, and not while ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just wondering - does anyone have any insight into how long it takes for a newly-minted Irish citizen to receive their Irish passport? I was directed to send it to the New York City consulate and it was signed for late last week so I know they received it. Was just wondering (a) how long it took to ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Has anyone requested delivery to a different address? I think I'm still a few weeks away from hearing anything (application received 24th April 2019), but I was wondering whether I could give my work address for delivery as it's manned 24 hours and they will always sign for things. They asked me fo...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Finally, progress!

Received the address confirmation email today (20Feb2020). My application was received on 28Mar2019, so just shy of 11 months to get to this point.

I've got something to celebrate this weekend!

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I'm getting worried and depressed I've not heard anything yet. I'm past the 10 month threshold and it looks like all the other March 2019 applicants have heard something. :(

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just checking and it seems things have got much worse since I received my FBR/Passport. I hit the 9-month mark a couple of days ago. Am patiently waiting and hoping next month. From Sulla's list, I believe there are still two March 2019 applicants that haven't yet reported being contacted - Kernzy ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just wanted to wish my fellow applicants (and especially Sulla for his tireless work in keeping up the applicant list) a happy holiday season. Here's hoping we're all newly-minted Irish citizens in 2020! :D

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi all. I'm patiently waiting on my application, and thanks to Sulla for maintaining the list. As I submitted in March 2019 and I'm seeing Jan/Feb people getting their FBR notifications I'm getting excited. :) One question - I submitted from the USA. Can anyone tell me whether the address confirmati...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Sulla,

If you could add me to your rolling list - I sent my application on 21 March 2019 from the New York City metro area to the Balbriggan office. I received an email on 28 March 2019 stating that my application had been received.

Thanks

chrisinpm - We were told for changing the address of our application to send proof of that address (a bill etc) to:
Mr. Xxxxxxxxx
PO Box 13003
Balbriggan County
Dublin Ireland
OK. I sent it to the correct address and included proof so hopefully it'll be processed correctly. Thanks.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Gave FBR a call to check status this AM. On hold for about 8 minutes. Was told when application was received (8/14/18). He said it has not been processed and estimated could take 12 months. Also asked about changing address as we have sold our house in preparation for a move to Europe. Glad we made...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello all, I discovered this site and decided to register and post my own dates of application for FBR. I sent my application on 21 March from the New York City metro area. I received an email on 28 March 2019 stating that my application had been received and that it would take up to six months to p...
