Hi, we applied for the EU1 (me: french; he: israeli) on November 26, he had never lived in another EU country before but we asked for residency in France before coming to Ireland. It was automatic and he received the provisional residence card for three months on the spot on November 12. Something w...

stamp 4 in hand, what next?

Hi all, We have received stamp 4 instead of EU1, like everyone else and we want to write a letter to the DOJ to complain about the fact that it still takes them more than 6 months to answer our request to EU1. Does anyone have a sample letter of complaint to the DOJ? That would help us a great deal....

Re: work permit V green card for non EU spouse (EU1 pending)

You will get a 'stam4EU fam' at the GNIB if your E.U1 application is approved by the department of Justice. You and your spouse will have to take the approval letter from DOJ down to the GNIB and have his Passport stamped with the Stamp4EU fam, and he will also get a electronic I.D card along with i...

Re: work permit V green card for non EU spouse (EU1 pending)

I actually rushed to the EU1 but what happens if we go to the garda tomorrow and ask for stamp 4? Sorry that might be a silly question... Are the conditions for stamp 4 different from those of the EU1? At least, you get an answer right away... I we already are considering getting stamp 3 for a work ...

Oh yeah, you're right. They only require proof of employment when you apply for a 'spouse visa' at the irish embassy. Since your husband doesn't need a visa to enter ireland, you can just fly into the airport with passports, marriage cert and other required docs without having to apply for a visa fro...

I am a bit concerned that they might reject the application straightaway as incomplete if you send it in without proof of your employment. The proof of employment is one of the required documents on the E.U1 application form. They don't ask for residency card of other E.U country on the form, so it'...

It would be much easier if you lived in France for 2 years so that your husband can apply for French citizenship by declaration, because if you live outside of France, he has to wait 5 years. Likewise, obtaining Irish citizenship would take approximately 7.5-8 years. Citizenship may not be your goa...

Re: what stamp at the airport

Thanks Archigabe for your answer. Isn't there a possibility to send off the application as is and then file the missing docs? If I'm already sending the French residence card later on, why not send the proof of employment with it? Is there a risk they won't process incomplete applications or worse a...

I think thats the only visa you can get. All other stamps/visas are at DOJ/GNIB.[/quote] Doesn't make much sense to me but if you say so! What's the deal with that accompanying spouse mention on the passport? Any documents we should provide the immigration at the airport? Does our "strategy&quo...

Hi all, I posted a couple months ago looking at options for my non EU husband. Thanks again for all your answers then! We now decided to move to Dublin next week. You're right the Embassy is a joke

just called them, they didn't even try to give me misleading information, they just told me they have no idea!! Great! No Ireland is not the only place on earth we could live in! We have a great range of choices, we were just appealed by the work market and lifestyle but you're probably all right, i...

Just had a crazy thought!!

Could I land in France, ask for the residence card, then fly to Dublin and ask there for the residence card and go back to france where we both can work? If I get the French one first, then I just add it to the file in Dublin.
What do you think?

another thing

Did I dream it or I saw that the non eu spouse should have resided legally for 6 months in another member state??? That way, having the French residence card would only help for half of the problem. Would we need to spend 6 months in France before filing the application in Ireland? Or do both in par...

Archigabe

That's really not the idea I had about Ireland. You seem to say that it wouldn't be wise to get to Ireland at all. Thank you for being so straightforward. Last precision, you say that with the French residence card it would be ok? Or would we still be at risk?? We probably could stay in France for a...

thank you both for your answers.

I understand that the decisions and the processing time is totally random. We're not looking into staying in Ireland forever, we set ourselves a two year period so a stamp 4 for 2 years would be more than fine. I'm still trying to figure out the French way to residence card :? and Archigabe, I don't...

Hi everyone, I have been trying for a few days to understand the whole non EU spouse issue and I have to say, nothing makes sense!! My situation is the following: I am French, married for 3 years to an Israeli. We live in Israel and plan to move to Dublin next month. We are both with education and e...
