Re: OCI cards stolen- process for re-issue

Sorry to hear about the loss. I hope you and your family are safe; which is most important. Regarding OCI, you can go to the https://ociservices.gov.in --> OCI Miscellaneous Services and apply for a new OCI. Please refer to the FAQá/important links section of this website and that of HCI London on t...

Re: Indian Passport Renewal

If you are in the UK, it's easier to get your passport sorted from UK than doing it from India. I would advice you to get your passport sorted from UK rather than getting it done from India when on a short visit; primarily because of the appointments, police verification etc.

Re: OCI photocopies

Hey guys, I am applying for OCI and we are a family of 4. I remember someone telling me that I need to prepare two sets of documents (originals separate) with my application. That would make 8 sets for 4 of us. Just want to check with someone who has already done this, do I need two sets? or one se...

Re: Update OCI on Aadhar Card

I don't think there is any provision to update or alter the information in Aadhar based on the renunciation of Indian Citizenship. As mentioned in response here, Aadhar is not a proof of citizenship but ID and can be applied by anybody who is resident in India. No only indian citizens are allowed t...

Hi, what background color photos did you submit? I am bit confused if plain white is acceptable.
I used photo with plain white background. Didn't face any issues.

Re: OCI - minor photo specifications

Hi You don't need a new appointment. Appointment is linked to your passport number and not application number. You can just re upload the new image for existing application. You don't have to redo the application just for the image. In https://ociservices.gov.in/welcome click on OCI Image Upload/Re-...

Re: OCI - minor photo specifications

Hi It's hard to tell if the photo will be accepted when it is OK'd in the website on upload. It's even harder to get a perfect shot of babies. So, understandably they should be more considerate with the photos of babies in particular. I see only issue with the top portion being cut. If you haven't s...

Re: Existing OCI with Old passport

Hi I understand that your son already has OCI and a renewed British Passport. Although the OCI is linked to Old Passport, you can travel with existing OCI and new passport. Do carry the old passport just to be on a safer side. I don't understand why you are so tense about it. Please read below the a...

Re: Entering India with passport expiring in 4 months

Hi All, My son's passport is expiring in Apr 2022 and he holds UK passport with OCI. He needs to travel to India for 10 days and will return to UK in Dec 2021. The options are, 1. Get a new UK passport in one week - This will require OCI to be reissued which is not possible in the given timelines. ...

Re: Travelling to India on British Passport

You cannot travel to India on a cancelled Indian passport. You either have to opt for 1. OCI (you won't get in time for travel) 2. Entry visa (2 weeks wait time and 2 days to get it, provided they are convinced about the urgency) 3. E-Visa - possibly opens on 16th Nov -- looks like this is your best...

Re: OCI applied 14th Oct- original not received back yet, worried

Hi I suppose you have tried all the options available; probably that's why you didn't get a response here. I would strongly recommend you to call CGI Birmingham (at least keep trying till they pick) preferably between 9:30amd till 10:30am. They do pick calls during this time, per my experience. Have...

Re: Indian Passport renewal process

Hi

If you want to make any modifications, submit a new application. The application that you physically submit in the VFS is what is considered for further processing (the application barcode they scan at VFS). Ignore all the erroneous applications submitted online.

Thanks

Re: Steps After Naturalization - Indian passport

Not very much to do .... Surrender Indian Passport 7-10 days max. (you can after naturalization but always better to have one Passport in hand before you surrender the other, hence ideally surrender after getting your British Passport. Book appointment at https://www.hcilondon.gov.in/appointment_ho...

If the B1 certificate was used in support of the ILR application then it can be used for naturalisation. You just select the appropriate box under English requirement. Thank you for your response. Just want to reiterate, can it still be used if it has expired while submitting the citizenship applic...

English Certificate exipry

Hi All

I will be applying for my wife's British Citizenship soon. She has used the English B1 Certificate for her ILR application. My query is that, can we use an expired B1 certificate for Citizenship application if the same was used for ILR?

Thanks..
