Hi If your husband switched from visitor to permit free visa in country then yes, it will count as legal residence. It would also help to get his file from the BIA, which gives details of all the visas, caseworker notes, etc. Its best if he goes in person to the PEO, so if they have any questions it...

ILR given and no letter

Hi

I was given ILR at the PEO, but did not receive a letter. Am I supposed to get a letter ? Is it compulsory to get the letter with the vignette ?

If my passport gets lost, what other proof do I have of ILR ?

Losing ILR

Hi

Is it possible to loose ILR ? How often does it happen due to staying out of UK for more than 2 years, deception, etc ?

Thanks.

hi

This happened to me as well. Get your landing cards from BIA and have bank statements for the dates you were here. And in a letter explain to them that the immigration officer did not stamp the passport.

Also check you have embarkation stamps from the country you left from.

Hi

Thanks.

They only checked the passport stamps and dates I was out of the UK. They asked for 3 months bank statements as well.

They did not give me a letter though. So I sent a letter and requested for one.

Nena, To get your file from BIA write a letter stating you want your data held under the data protection act 1998. You have to pay £10, so write a cheque payable to "Accounting Officer – Home Office". Mention in the letter you have included the cheque. And also your full name, nationali...

hi Yes, if you change courses you have to notify them. Check if the qualifications obtained are authorized by the government, I think. You can explain to BIA that you didnt know it was bogus, and that you had to change colleges. Dont think it will be a problem for the IGS application as long as you ...

Find a college ASAP that offers the same course. Find out why they were removed from the list in the first place.

ANYONE ELSE - Is it compulsory to notify the BIA if you change colleges ?

siggi,

Students contribute in terms of fees and subsidise for the education of UK/EU students. Some work part-time and pay taxes. Some study then go into HSMP, etc.

A student whose been here for 10 years could be highly skilled in a subject in demand, etc.

hi Are they saying you have gaps of 3 months ? or have you broken the rules, Ie. working more than 20 hours ? Get your file from BIA, which will show the date the application was received and given by caseworker. You also get the caseworker notes. Then you have some proof. Maybe you should re-apply ...

Hi

BIA does not hold any details on issue of an entry clearance by the Foreign office, and they dont have my landing cards from 1998.

Please confirm that the passport stamps and proof (GP,college, bank letters) and sufficient for the 10 year application.

Thanks.

Hi

I entered in 1998 and they dont have my landing card either. REALLY is the stamp in the passport and other proof such as certificates sufficient ?

Some immigration officers MIGHT be a bit harsh and refuse the application because of the missing landing card.

What other solution is there ?
