If this is a rumour then I must say its very popular. Many guys I knew back were certain that if you are leaving UK for good, you get back whatever tax you have paid.

No one tried it though.

You are lucky to have come through unscathed. Now all I can advise is to join the CCL movement of students to protest against unlawful tactics of Home Office and UKBA. Remember the old saying.. Further to what Rattlesnake said, if you are planning to have wife and kids ( or if you have already screwed it by having them - children I mean ) then go for buying a house keeping in mind RattleSnake's wise advise. To clarify, it is possible to start work, if authorised to do so, and then apply for the NI number. You have not got to wait for the NI number to be issued in order to start work. Please read what I have said again I said if you have job, you have to apply for NI. I did not say that you have to hav...

Re: Unnecessary document requests by UKBA for EEA FP

Then what unnecessary documents are they asking for ? I suppose you are filling out the online form wherein the system won't go to the next step unless you provide the answers to all the questions on the page, and it doesn't take more than a few minutes. Apart from the passports of the applicant, E...

IT IS MEANT FOR ADVISING PEOPLE, NOT CRITICISING IMMIGRANTS AND PROVIDING STATISTICS If Irish Tom or someone else thinks a marriage is sham, he shouldn't advise because in that case, he would be advising how to dodge the system. In other words, advising how to commit a crime which itself is a crime...

Re: Unnecessary document requests by UKBA for EEA FP

UKBA wants to make sure the marriage is not just for securing entry to UK and hence they have every right to ask for documents, proof, interviews whatever and delay the application for as long as they deem fit. Whats the problem ?? That is no problem, they are entitled to do that, and only that. Th...

Re: Unnecessary document requests by UKBA for EEA FP

It seems the UKBA goes far beyond the Directives set out by the EC asking many questions which are not necessary to establish the family tie of a non-EEA national. Quoting 86ti from another thread: If you decide to apply for an EEA FP you will have to fill out form VAF5 but be warned that it asks f...

Don't put words in my mouth. Your accusations are unfounded, you have no proof. Every couple has ups and downs, people change, circumstances evolve, sometimes there is no middle ground anymore. Do you think every relationship is rosey-eyed and all beautiful from beginning to end? If that is what a ...
