My understanding is as follows: My grandmother is Irish by birth (I.e. born in Ireland) so in order to register I need to show descent through her. I have all the documents I need...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

When ID's are notarized it's best to add a declaration statement . For me it was like this: I, ( full name on ID), declare that this is a valid, true copy of my official US passport. Usually the notary is just stamping that it is you signing Not that the ID is true & valid. They can't do that T...

Anyone coming up on their "due date" or have gone past it? I'm at day 52 now, status bar went back from 100% on Dec 1st to 80% now, still processing application. I did get a hold of them via web chat but they could provide no information other than the application is going through entitle...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I have just submitted application form and documents but kicking myself for unbelievable carelessness over checking how my witness worded their statement on photocopy of state-issued id. Re: Is my FBR application considered urgent?

I don't suppose you know where they are currently in terms of those batches? And also whether I can expect any notification of my documents actually being received? No. You should follow the main thread for FBR. People will have active applications and dates. They even have a spreadsheet for many o...

So I submitted an FBR application for myself and brother in september of 2020, however by the time I had the documents ready to go in December the offices had closed, a boat I'm sure many are in. I have since sent the documents as soon as they reopened (still don't know if they have my very importa...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Also, two of the four passport photos need to be witnessed. How are people doing this? There’s not much space on the back of a passport photo, so I’m not sure how they are expecting a certified as true statement, name, date, signature, official stamp and address etc. Handy tip for anyone with pets ...

Guys, thanks so much for the insight and the quick reply. I'm thrilled. I’ve actually just let my parents know and they are both pleasantly surprised. I do have a couple more questions if I may. A police officer can certify documents as a true copy of the original, but do you think police (civilian...

I Don't believe you can send via FEDEX or UPS. I wanted to do that but agent said they won't deliver to a PO Box so I had to send mine USPS priority international. Supposed to take 3 days but took about 10! Very Good. I know UPS doesn't do it due to the P.O. Box # aspect but FEDEX too now ,maybe? I...

Re: Falling at the first hurdle. FBR Application Advice Required

Sadly, it will take a long time. Processing slowed measuredly due to Brexit. Big surges of applications occurred that slowed time from 3-6 months til over a year. Then came Covid-19 shut downs. It will depend on how things go in next 6 months to get things going again. So at the least a year and a h...

Re: Falling at the first hurdle. FBR Application Advice Required

You are blending getting FBR via Grandparent with getting FBR via a Naturalized Parent. These are separate routes to get on FBR. For using grandfather who is born on the whole island of Ireland get his birth/marriage/death(or ID). Get your mother's birth/marriage/death (or ID) and your birth/marriag...
