Re: Foreign Birth Registration

[ I found the instructions concerning marriage certificates to be a little vague but my understanding is that they are required where surnames have changed in the path back to the qualifying relative. In my case, eligibility derives from my maternal grandparents. Having chosen my grandfather, I onl...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Eerily quiet on the thread... I guess it will go quiet as the DFA currently aren’t processing applications so no news to report. I feel very lucky that I managed to get my FBR and passport in September. Clancy, any word on your passport? Me? I'm still waiting for approval of FBR not passport. Day 4...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi. You may do your research online or read the latest news on third world countries eg: South East Asian countries for your general knowledge. If they understand the meaning of priority, then why backlog applications since last year even b4 covid19? There's a difference between being diligent and ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

My long wait is over! My FBR certificate and supporting docs were delivered yesterday. USPS Informed Delivery sent a text saying my package was "delivered to an individual". A few minutes later, it was in my mailbox. No-contact delivery, I guess. 8) My timeline: Application submitted onli...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I would encourage anyone that received a confirmation of address email in early or mid October that didn't hear a response yet to reach out to the webchat service. This might be helpful to finding out if where you are in the process. Good luck and will continue to update as I hear more! I've had no...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello all. Well, I appear to be up s*** creek with my FBR application. Applied August 2019. Didn't hear anything until two days ago, when I got an email rejecting my parents' marriage certificate. Apparently it has to be a civil certificate, not a church one - I didn't even know there was a differe...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

The current average is 469 days which is a bit lower than before, but there aren't a huge number of data points and I suspect people who are eager enough to be on this board are unlikely to be a representative sample! If my math is correct then Day 469 for me would be this Thursday Oct 8th. My gues...
