Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi jgclancy, I am looking to do a joint FBR application for my two sons to save time and paperwork - I have separate forms for them but my question is about how many passport photos I need for myself (ie the Irish Citizen Parent). The form says I need to submit 4 photos of me (2 to be witnessed) so...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

[/quote] Ye It has concerned me enough that I phoned the FBR helpline today. They advised that I should enclose the divorce decree along with the rest of the application and a cover letter explaining that it says his marital status is widowed on the death cert but it he was actually divorced. The on...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Great news Thanks I’ll let him know Just FYI - you and your brother can apply at the same time and both use the same documents for your grandparent & parent. Just need separate application forms & each of your individual documents. Best to put everybody's documents into separate well labele...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

2nd question regarding FBR My grandads Irish death cert said his marital status was ‘widowed’, which isn’t true, he and my nana actually divorced, he moved back to Ireland and she ultimately outlived him by 10 years or so. When the FBR application asks about the grandparent, it asks his marital sta...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi jgclancy-- My app/docs arrived in Dublin on Feb 4, 2020. I forgot to include my and my siblings application numbers on the outside of the packaging. Have you heard anything about this being a big problem? I don't know what they do or how they process things. I assume they'll just look inside and...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Well, I'm quickly coming up on the 1 year mark since my application was received in Dublin (sent from Toronto). I was emailed Feb 19, 2019 saying everything was recieved and nothing since. This is ridiculous how people from March 2019 are receiving theirs before mine. Maybe there is a bias against ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Here is a unique question (I think). Has anyone applied for FBR, and provided documentation that their sibling has already registered - such as providing their FBR number or a copy of their certificate? I've had my FBR 18 months ago, and my brother recently decided to apply. The idea is that maybe ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Do I pay the 300 Euro application free, then print out the application form with my witness' signature to send along with the rest of the documents? Or is the 300 to be paid after the documents have been sent? It just confuses me why it says I need to have collected all the documents before complet...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I read on another board that the same witness must be used on all the documents (passport copy, photos, application form itself) for the FBR application package - does anyone know if that is true? I'm applying from the US and plan to use the notary public at my bank - sometimes different people on ...

Jamie1995- Don't worry -just call them and explain what you did. They'll just tell you to mail the missing documents. Make sure you put application number on outside of mail

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi Everyone. I sent my application form last week to the DFA to begin my journey to citizenship. I am doing this based on descent through a grandparent. Unfortunately I’ve messed up tremendously. I’ve sent off everything but my mums documents (didn’t think I needed too because she’s English and com...
