Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

I do not get it, what's their problem with the virtual ceremony? Just put a smartphone/laptop in front of the guy who reads the script, run a Microsoft teams meeting and in half an hour 250 ceremonies sorted. Repeat a few times and you are in thousands. Bureaucracy is more people doing less things,...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Starting on Monday, social gatherings of more than six people will be illegal in England, indoors or outdoors. I assume that it will affect the councils' ability to offer group ceremonies (or even private ceremonies as well). Who knows if this isn't a sign for an upcoming full lockdown. I've been w...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

My ceremony will be held on Friday virtually! :D :D :D I applied in February, and got my letter of inviation only in August. Though the letter was dated in March. I called the council as soon as i got the letter, and they said there's a huge backlog and to get in touch early September - and to keep...

Re: Home Office lost my citizenship certificate

It's been nearly a month since I did my citizenship ceremony, however my certificate is still with the Home Office for correction, since the Council sent it back to the Home Office and I never got to see it either. I contacted my MP and they confirmed that they contacted the Home Office on my behal...

Yes, Individual stocks, FTSE100 and 250 would qualify. REITs won’t.

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

The irony is that home off icevis looking at introducing fast track applications like we had with our ILR. probably cut times in half. But unfortunately will be to late for us. Application end Dec 19. Biometrics end Jan. Approval e mail 3rd June No certificate or invite as yet. Where did they say t...

UKVCAS new update 24/8/20. https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/flash-message-detail?flashmessageId=74833 It’s not a rocket science for UKVCAS and UKVI just to keep their communication simple and clear. Why they can’t simply mention IDV emails are sent either on daily, weekly or god knows yearly basis. What we...

What can I do if I don't know anyone who fits the requirements?
Then you’re not eligible to receive a passport (which is a privilege, not a right).

Re: Ceremony done virtually, when to return BRP? After receiving certificate or before?

BRP must be returned to HO when you attend the ceremony. That is because you lose the ILR status when you become British and the BRP is invalid :!: :!: That's exactly what my main consideration is as well But at the moment I don't have any proof that I'm a British Citizen until I get the certificat...

Re: Has brexit turned the UK into a rogue state.ex

UK was never a lawful country or a democracy to being with. This just showed the extent of it to the world. The price of it will be the break up of the union. NI will leave, Scotland and Wales will gain independence and become prosperous countries within the EU and England will be left behind. Too s...

Re: Applying for new CAS for PHD extension and dependent.

I also wanted a 6 month extension for my viva and potential corrections, which took longer than I expected (hence a second extension).

I hope your university wouldn’t give you any more headaches... they’re clearly wrong about this.

Re: Applying for new CAS for PHD extension and dependent.

This happened to me on my PhD, an extension would have pushed me above the 8 years cap. I was freaked out, but the university visa office calmed me down, told me that it isn’t relevant to me at all. I was granted not one but two extensions after the 8 years period, then a Tier 4 DES. Never an issue ...
