See here for tips on how to book an appointment online. I'm not sure why they give the option of using the premium service or not - in terms of initial appointments, as far as I'm aware "premium service" = PEO appointment. If you select YES for premium service and then follow the advice in...

I don't think this is a question of 10 months salary. The point is there is a gap of 2 months in the 12 month period. What I am not sure of, if UKBA will consider 12 months period in which you have not worked for 2 months in between. Lets say you worked Jan to April and then didn't in May and June ...

Hi Munna Ji, Sorry to hear about you being made redundant and congrats on your new job. I have queried the Home Office many times about what "economically active" means and have never received a clear answer. I believe they keep it purposely vague - what they reiterated to me is that the m...

I'm not an expert but to the best of my knowledge, her visa became invalid the day they stopped living together as a married couple. Technically she is in breach of her visa, and thus she will not be able to apply for ILR. Check out similar thread: http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=45...

Wow, that's amazing nghy! Congratulations!!

Has anyone else had/heard of success getting ILR when clearly over 180 days abroad? I wonder if it was just a fluke for nghy or if it's systematically not being enforced.. (doubtful of the latter but can always hope!)

I believe any NatWest branch should do it. I have successfully used the Aldwych branch on the LSE campus (38 Strand, Charing Cross, London WC2N 5JB / 0845 600 2803) - they charged a fee for the letter (something around £10 circa 2009) but are accustomed to doing letters for the Home Office & sta...

Considering giving up self-employment (Tier 1 General)

Hi all, After reading several of the self-employment (SE) threads on here I am considering giving up my business, as providing SE evidence seems too complicated for my situation. I am due to apply for Tier 1 (General) extension in March 2012 and am currently registered with HMRC as a sole-trader. I'...

What does that mean, "business or company accounts that meet statutory requirements" ??

I'm so confused as to whether it's worth opening a separate business account to declare SE earnings (working as an HMRC registered sole-trader), and whether I need to get an accountant...
