Hi everyone, I accepted the job but am now a bit panicked. I can't find any evidence that earnings from SE for a job outside the UK will count for my ILR. I only took the job because I really need the income for my ILR earnings threshold. Any guidance would be greatly appeciated. I am in the process...

Working abroad as self-employed - can I count earnings?

Hi everyone, I have an urgent query - I just received an offer for a 9 week job in Asia. I'm self-employed (sole trader) on Tier 1 (General) and am applying for ILR in March 2014. I would be paid for this work in GBP, into my UK bank account. As a self-employed person, can I use this income (earned ...

Working for foreign employer in the UK on Tier 1 (G)?

Hi all, I am on Tier 1 (General) and am up for ILR in March 2014. I am trying to earn enough money for my income threshold and am considering a job offer from a small company based in Ireland. The job is based in the UK and my earnings would be paid into my UK bank account in GBP, but the employer i...

You should carry the 5 year P60s with you. To clarify, do you mean for T1(G) applicants? Yes submit only those documents which are required on SET O Form. That's what I did. You must remember that all CWs are not the same . Some ask for additional documents while some don't. But you should be able ...

Thanks for clarifying Lucapooka, I really appreciate it.

Do you think it would cause problems if I used my Masters to get more points (thus lowering my required income threshold), or would it draw my ILR eligibility into question because I studied while on a Tier 1 (General)?

To qualify for ILR you need to have an income at the appropriate scale during the previous 12 months. If you make that amount you will qualify. It does not matter whether you are employed, self-employed or unemployed at any time during those 12 months or at the time of applying. Thanks for your qui...

Self-employment or regular employment? Please help me decide

Hi everyone, I am eligible for ILR in Mar 2014 (after 5 years on Tier 1 General). I am really struggling with what to do about my employment situation right now and would greatly appreciate any input. I am currently unemployed but registered self-employed (historically I have worked as both SE and a...

However the question is, can't you as a work self employed if you don't have the degree but experience. Also it is not stated any where in Tier 1 General guidance that you have to have a required qualification to start any business, what about the experience? Has anyone ever heard of this happening...

Could I ask if you were asked anything about your economic activity (wages, employment status, etc) for any period other than the previous year?

Thank you so much KayNa; it's very much appreciated. Final questions! 1. Is there anyone in particular you'd recommend at Howlander? 2. Would you mind saying (roughly) how much the accountant cost? (I have absolutely no clue as I've never used one before!) 3. Would you recommend the lawyer you worke...

KayNa, thank you so much for your post; it is very helpful. To confirm: 1) The cash and cheque payments you included (those you deposited directly into your own account) counted towards your total income? 2) Did the caseworker ever ask to see your clients' contact details, or did the line in your ac...

I'm desperately searching for work in London right now to meet my income threshold and I'm wondering if I should just start looking for work abroad instead. I feel so incredibly defeated, after nearly 7 years of living here (4 on Tier 1). Before you do that, you may want to wait until we get more d...

Re: Hi

There you go first success story without any issue, CW don't think too much like us. They only follow a paerwork with tick boxes, if they have everything written clearly. I can't agree more - I am of the view that we should only provide documents that are specifically requested in the form and NO M...
