Re: got answer

So.. I called UKBA helpine and they told me that as far as the leave was paid (by any employer) , no matter whether you were in UK or outside, you ahve to show the evidence letter from that employer only . Though I mentioned that can show bank statement , payslips for leave period but she mentioned...

FYI - increased scrutiny at LHR passport control

Just a heads up to other Tier 1 (General) holders, when returning to the UK yesterday from a two-week holiday abroad, I was properly grilled by LHR passport control in a manner I've never before experienced in the 6+ years I've lived in the UK. This may have been an anomaly, but judging by how long ...

Thanks vnambiar. I am up for ILR in Mar 2014 and am debating switching from self employed (sole trader) to normal employment for this year just to avoid having to prove self employed earnings. I would much prefer to stay self employed, but I worry that, given my circumstances, it would be too hard t...

Good luck, ironrose; let us know how it turns out! cricinfo, could you please point me to where in the immigration rules/UKBA guidance it says a spouse of a BC applying for naturalisation can be on any visa during the qualifying 3 year period? I see this is the same information given in the FAQ but ...

Too many days outside UK for ILR - Tier 1 ext or FLR(M)?

Hi everyone, I would really appreciate your advice on my situation. I have lived legally in the UK since Dec 2006, and have been on a Tier 1 (General) visa since Mar 2009 . I should be eligible for ILR in Mar 2014, except that I will have spent over 300 days outside the UK, accrued through taking no...

For future reference, I was able to re-enter the country today without a problem, no questions asked beyond the ordinary ones (how long are you planning to stay; what do you do for a living). I was processed by a trainee border agent who had someone assisting him - the trainee clearly did not know w...

Tier 1 General extension - salary referenced as expenses

Hi everyone, I am applying for a Tier 1 (General) extension at Croydon PEO on 20 March. When depositing my Oct salary my employer erroneously put "OCT EXPENSES" as the payment reference. This reference now appears on the bank statement I am using as evidence for proof of earnings, next to ...

Do they have to say "conditional" bonus in the letter? For a non-knowledgeable caseworker maybe that sounds as though it isn't definite. Then again, I've never had a bonus so not sure whether this is standard terminology. :D Thanks goldfish. Yeah, they put "conditional bonus" in...

Does the amount on the payslip (when you add both salary + bonus) exactly equal the amount on your bank statement? If so, I wouldn't expect a problem. A letter from your employer would be helpful as a backup in case you have a fussy caseworker! The reason differences of few pennies can cause a prob...

As it's my first time contracting through an agency just want to know if it's the Agent or the end Client who checks on my visa status?
