Definitely, that delay is impacting on people lives. It has a huge impact on our lives just to be left in limbo like that. I don't think the Home Office sees it this way. Applicants for naturalisation already have ILR, which means that they have most of the rights of British citizens within the UK....

Was reading what secret.simon advised about resigning it with a date before your biometrics.

So maybe follow his advise as long as you were physically present in the UK 5 years before that date.
