Re: Fiancée visa extension process

I wouldn't know the answer to any of the questions from the previous post (very detailed and interesting contribution, however now I'm really confused as I assumed fiancé visa extensions were certainly possible! :? ), however for info I would like to share that I came across a comment in Facebook fr...

Re: Fiancée visa extension process

However the extensions still seem to be referred to people with temporary visas who don't intend to stay permanently in the UK but can't go back to their countries, it seems to be implied that any settlement visas (including fiancé visas?) should still apply for extension/switch through the usual ch...

Re: Fiancée visa extension process

I guess one would have to apply for the extension and pay the fee and the letter seems to imply that they might refund it once they figured out stuff further down the line? We'll see, but those words certainly give some hope. May I ask, is that email/letter a reply from an enquiry put through their ...

Re: Fiancée visa: unable to marry in 6 months due to wedding ban

“This is being kept under regular review, but no one will be penalised for circumstances outside of their control.” Right, I did see the article and that sentence also caught my eye and gave me some sort of hope, let's see if there's any kind of news shortly but it is true that 31st May is approach...

Re: Fiancée visa extension process

Right, no IHS for visas of 6 months or less, however this would be an extension of 6 months to an original 6 months visa, so a total stay of 1 year... As most travel insurances don't cover more than 6 months travel it would make sense that the extra 6 months were paid via IHS and health access was c...

Re: Fiancée visa extension process

I guess yes, however being a six months extension I would expect the IHS to be something around £200 as the £1000 is for a 2.5 years normal FLR extension, so I would guess a total of around £1200 (I'm not really sure if that's how it works though)

Re: Fiancée visa: unable to marry in 6 months due to wedding ban

Hi Nick, I think it's a good idea to try and gather people in a similar situation, if not to push something to make it a little more public at least to share info on new findings regarding recommendations on what to do and so on. I'll share my phone number with you on a private message in case we mi...

Re: Fiancée visa: unable to marry in 6 months due to wedding ban

Hi! Any updates on this? Similar situation here, wedding (due 11th April) was cancelled and my fiance's marriage visa is due to expire end of July. CIH email helpline didn't offer much advise, just told us to wait and keep an eye for updates from the government. They said visas expiring after 31st o...
