Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

I have read alot of comments on here. It has nothing to do with council BUT HO. If you just got approval email or letter in August or last week then you need to exercise patience and wait for at least 8 or 12 weeks before complaining.... There are people who got approved since May who are still wai...

Contacted HO today. 12 weeks from 7th of August; we should all get our invitation. So not 12 weeks after approval. Well at least something from them. 30th of October let's all celebrate our long waiting invitation.
12 weeks is the optimal time frame, many things could delay the deadline further.

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

New rules do not affect weddings, funerals offices etc. Will not affect ceremonies as long as social distancing adheared too. Approved 4th June. Still waiting. Not sure if group ceremonies would be considered the same as weddings and funerals, Hopefully it wont have any impact on group ceremonies a...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

If a second ware do hit, people who got approved during June/July may not get the invitation letter before the end of this year... Dreadful situa...

You need the HO invitation letter to attend the ceremony. Council will not let you attend before that. You can use your relative/friend’s address for correspondence address. I have used it myself for one of my previous visas. No issues.
Thanks very much, Appreciate your help

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

In my experience I've found the information over a call to my council is much more recent and reliable than the standard responses they provided me on email. For example when I emailed about virtual ceremonies, they sent me a standard response of "we're considering it and will contact applican...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Hi all, just thought to share information for those waiting for ceremony from Westminster Council. They have now resumed the private ceremonies and if you have invitation letter you can call them to book at 0207 641 7500. I just booked mine for tomorrow and it costs £100. Good luck for everyone who...

Hi,
I think the Home Office are not sending certificate to council they are only conducting the one before the lockdown
Thanks for the info, guess I will have to wait if there is no way of getting a invitation letter sooner.

Dear All. It's been 1 year since I submitted my citizenship application and i have been chasing them using diff means, nothing worked. Re: Anyone else been waiting for over a year?

It is just silly &ridiculous from home office as your dependent got approved but you are still stuck. Keep in mind that after ILR, all (adult) applications are independent of each other and decided independently. It is possible for one spouse to get British citizenship and the other one denied ...
