Hello All I recently got U sticker visa on my child's British passport along with OCI booklet from HCIL. However there is a spelling mistake for the field place of birth on the front page of booklet. where last letter is missing. e.g. Instead of Enfield, its written as Enfiel. Can you please tell me...

Help filling up fresh OCI registration form

Hello Friends I was an Indian citizen and now acquired British citizenship, I want to apply for OCI card, as per HCIL site, I am supposed to fill the form online at http://passport.gov.in/oci/welcome and click on new OCI registration. That gives me a form in new window where I should fill in various...

Re: Eligibility for naturalization as spouse of British Citi

Thanks to Amber and ban.s for replying to my queries earlier. My wife applied as spouse of British Citizen i.e. me and got approval letter last Saturday. Had not expected it will come that quick - it took nearly 10 weeks only. However have not received a letter stating to go ahead to book citizenshi...

Re: Travelling after getting citizenship

well, I was not concluding anything, Passport is travel document, it is not madatory to get passport after getting citizenship certificate if someone doesn't want to pass the ports of UK (though very less likely). Also are you sure getting OCI is compulsory if someone gets British passport? Indian p...

Re: Travelling after getting citizenship

The rule I heard here is (for Indians) from the time your citizenship certificate has arrived..you should complete getting the B passport and submit Inidan passport and receive OCI with in 90 days.. failing to do so you will be charged 145£ as you have visited out of UK.. If you do more visits.. a ...

Re: Is contribution to Pension scheme regarded as ‘public fu

it's basic idea join employer's pension scheme so that you can get some tax relief.
so i don't think its considered as public fund as you are merely saving tax which would have been applied to your pay if not used to buy pension.

i don't think there will be any problem or it will result in refusal.

Re: New KOL and English requirement

Sorry for the confusion. If it is demonstrated on the PBS calculator, then you don't need to further deem it by NARIC. Thanks for the response. But if Degree is found in PBS Calculator, does it mean that it automatically gets 10 points for English skills? I don't see PBS calculator granting 10 poin...

Request to provide advice for my above post. I am 99% sure that we will not need additional test to prove English skills but if anyone who got ILR approved recently and share what was submitted as proof of English skills - it will be a great help. Thanks by reading recent related post1 and post2 , ...

Re: Need Help! Swicting wife directly from PSW to ILR depend

I think in order to have your wife become your dependent after you get ILR, her entry should have been as your dependent.
I am not sure if that is applicable for post study visa but I found it definately true when my wife who is here on Tier-1 visa wanted to become my dependent after I got ILR.

Re: Baby to be born in UK to ILR Indian parents

if either of the parents got ILR then baby can be registered as British by birth. It should take 1 month for registration and same time for getting British passport. Baby cannot get OCI until the parents are British. So in your case, you will have to get visa for India if you register baby as Britis...

Re: ILR -Tier 2 General enquiry

I am sure if I contact HMRC they probably won't have any record on my name as no tax has been paid by my employer in the last 3 years. I am still employed by the same company which still has an 'A' rating with Home office. My current Tier 2 is valid until July 2014. If I go for same day ILR applica...

Re: ILR -Tier 2 General enquiry

My employer has told me that there was no tax paid for 3 years. If there is no record on my name how would that affect my ILR application? this is strange, if they can't see you paid tax how can them be sure you were working legally? if you got your employee tax reference and NI number, you can fin...

Hi Uday, sorry for late reply. SA tax , i mean Self Assessment tax returns, I think its not just related to self-employed. Re: Exit visa from India for British born child

If you cant find a reliable travel agent then you (or your relative in Vadodra) needs to go to local DSP office. Over there they will tell you what you need to do. My only concern with going directly is that you have to be prepared to do some "atta". They will make you go round in circle ...

Like I said dont try to do this yourself (or ask your parents to do it). They will go mad. Spend the money and hire an agent. Take my advise DONT DO THIS YOUR SELF IT WILL DRIVE YOU MAD!!!!!! The process is not documented and vague. Take it this way. Why do you take Breakdown cover for your vehicle...
