Invitation/sponsorship letter for 2 years visitors visa.

Hi all,
My sister & her children have visited me about 4-5 times for 3-4 weeks since 2002. They have always applied for & obtained 6 months visitors visa.

She would now like to apply for 2 years visitors visa.

Any advice about what I need to write in my invitation letter ?

Thanks.

Re: is this legal?

In late september 2011 three distant relatives of mine, (they are all Bangladeshi citizens,) secretly travelled to the UK (sorry, don't know all the ins and out of the legalities involved, I do know however that they did not use their own passports). They were brought to the UK in 2003 on a visitin...

Depedant visa for parents - incorrect sticker in passport

Hi all, I am a British citizen living here in the UK. I applied for my mum's (an Indian citizen) ILR as my dependant in 2007. After initially refusing, she was granted ILR in June 2008. We received her passport with the ILR stamped around oct 2008. Unfortunately her ILR doesn't mention that she has ...

UKBAbble,

I think its not possible for any child to travel on their parents passport now. (Not an expert so could be wrong) & esp to the US.

I would be very very surprosed if your advice was true.

Maybe the OP has written the date in American style (10th March rather than 3rd Oct). I must confess I absolutely hate the American system of writing the month/date/year. Its wierd.

Hi, I urge all of you to enter your visa timelines at www.spammer.com. You can track all sorts of visas like Tier 1, Tier 2, PSW, extensions, etc. If all of us enter our details, we will get an accurate estimate for our applications. Thanks. Any child born in the uk becomes eligible for British citizenship (& hence British passport) after one of the parents becomes settled in the UK (ie ILR).

Hi Ash1,

It can take a long time - anything upto 1-2 yrs aswell. My mum's ILR application took a total of 13 months.

You can get your MP involved & that may help. But apart from that theres not much you can do.

Best of luck.

How long is a piece of string ???? Indian embassy works in ways that are difficult to understand by a vast majority. I am surprised by the confident "1-2 weeks" reply by the previous poster. That might be the case if things go smoothly, but if they dont (& sometimes they dont), then ev...

I had to sort out travel/health insurance for my mother a few years ago & there was only 1 company that I found after extensive searching that was willing to offer her insurance.

You can however get online insurance for them from Indian companies like ICICI or Bajaj Allianz etc.

Thanks for your replies.

Yes it was an incountry application. It was a application for ILR under compassionate grounds as my mother was still not 65 yrs old. It was entirely on her medical diagnosis.

I am hoping that they will send her passport soon.

thanks,

Deepak.

I dont know why you are confused. Once you acquire any foreign nationality, you have to surrender your Indian passport. You can send your passport by post to them along with a letter saying that you have re3ceived foreign nationality. They will cancel your passport, cut off the corners & send it...

Hi, I am a 35 yr old British Citizen. I had applied ILR for my 64 yr old widowed mum as my dependant. Without going into too much detail, I was aware that at 64 we would need to prove compelling compassionate circumstances. I was convinced that our circumstances were compellingly compassionate &...
