Soliciter Fee for ILR

I am considering using a solcitor for my ILR application. Have been quoted £1580 for the solicitor plus £1483 for the premium application. This seems high. Can anyone tell me if this is a normal rate? The reason I'm thinking about using a solicitor is I have a US criminal record with a DWIs, all of ...

Thanks for the reply. Well, that clears it up. I guess we can either put "No" in question D2 or simply not answer it at all.

New SET(O) Application Form as of December 2012

FYI, there's a new version of the SET(O) application form on the UKBA website. I didn't see any post saying this so I thought I would let people know. Despite the rule change in December regarding the continuous residence requirement, they did not alter the wording of question D2 in section 9: D2. P...

With regards to points for age, are you saying that she is unable to score the same points that she scored 5 years ago because she is now 5 years older and therefore in a different age band? Apologies, I didn't realize your points for age never change. i.e. you always put the age you were when you ...

Switching from Tier 1 to Dependent

Hi guys, could use some advice here. Both my wife and I have lived/worked in the UK for several years now. My wife's current Tier 1 General expires in Mar-13. At that point she will have been working in the UK for 5 years and thus be eligible for ILR. However, it is highly likely she will not have e...

Thanks for the info Asim. Just to clarify, do you think having a claim period different from the tax year is reason for not submitting a ITR? What if in my employer letter, they state that "the U.S. Tax year is 1 Jan to 31 Dec" which is not in line with my claim period? Thanks in advance f...

What docs can I submit to prove excep. consid. for earnings?

Currently I only have a pdf copy of my IRS form W2. Obviously an original would suffice to prove exceptional consideration, but will my photocopy suffice as evidense of the U.S. tax year?

Is there any other information that can prove this?

Thanks in advance.

Income Tax Return Question - Need help everyone

I am asking for exceptional consideration due to my claim period being different from my tax year. I will be submitting wage slips (signed and sealed) for the entire claim period, bank statements for the entire claim period, and letters from my two employers verfying the earnings being claimed. So m...

Thanks again AG, you've been an immense help. I can't thank you enough. One more question though, and then I promise to not bug you again. Do we still need to submit the IRS tax form if we submit 1) all the paystubs for both jobs and 2) have letters from both jobs validating the earnings? The reason...

Thanks AG, I really appreciate the info. To clarify her consulting work, it was with a parents' friend's country club and therefore I believe she was considered a "temporary" employee. Therefore, we just assumed she could provide a wage slip and a letter from the company HR validating her ...

Urgent: Need Advice on Past Earnings Evidence

My girlfriend's application was just denied due to lack of evidense on her past earnings and now we need to resubmit. Can anyone advice if this is sufficient evidense for past earnings: Period Claimed: 4 Nov 2006 - 2 Nov 2007 1. Wage slip on 2 Nov 2007 with YTD gross earnings 2. Wage slip on 31 Dec ...
