I meant to ask about the 'spouse visa' extension - I know I cannot apply for ILR yet.

I'm looking for jobs now but with a 9 month visa it looks a bit difficult! If I can extend my spouse visa and get a 27 month extension I guess I'll stand a better chance in jobseeking?

When can I apply for Spouse Visa Extension?

I have searched around but couldn't find a definite answer.

My current spouse visa runs out Jan 2010 and I entered UK on Oct 2008. I am wondering can I apply for spouse visa extension now or must I wait until just before my visa expires?

Many thanks!

If you do not have any child, I don't think you can apply for housing benefit. Your wife is not entitled to housing benefit.

Can she write 'single mother' as her occupation?
How to answer question 3.5: Address of tax office or tax office reference?

Any enlightment would be greatly appreciated.

She's not employed, lives on social benefit with her child. Can she leave section 3 blank? I don't think she's paying any tax at all.

Guys the fact is she DID pass 'life in the UK' test. I know it's sarcastic :D

Yes she has passed 'life in the UK'. I believe she hasn't got the news of the new fees yet. She was complaining the fees are as high as 600 pounds! but actually she doesn't really speak English, that's why she turned to friends for help not NCS.

citizenship queries: single mother on benefits

Hello everyone, my friend has got her ILR over 5 years ago but never applied for citizenship before. She heard there would be some changes in citizenship application soon and decided to get her British passport now. But she has always been on benefits for the past few years as a single mother (child...

Oh thank you very much indeed Jabi, as for your answer 4), my reply is that: i): The UK customs may very possibly stop a visitor in late pregnancy (at least for a Chinese citizen, as far as I know). ii): The charge from hospitals for a visitor would be too much for us to bear. About Question Two, I ...
