If it is a straightforward application satisfying the relevant pre-requisites, then in-person application at PEO is always the preferred option.

BTW, what is the status of the individual based upon whom the dependent's application is to be made?

As far as I understand it is 180 days over the 5 year period.

Another alternative will be to contact your local MP and get him to write a letter to the relevant department dealing with your application.

If you had done some some search on this forum, you would have learnt that you can apply for ILR 28 days prior to completion of your 5 years of valid stay in the UK.

I have called homeoffice this morning to see the progress and the lady on the phone confirms that letter has been sent out on 9th dec but could not tell me the content of it. It will not be considered for ILR and hence there is no question of it being considered for citizenship either.
