Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

After 5 continuous/ consecutive years of exercising treaty rights i.e. working; being self employed; being self sufficient +CSI /EHIC (being insured back in your country of nationality ) ; studying + CSI /EHIC (being insured back in your country of nationality ) PR status is achieved automatically a...

I was mostly discussing an altogether different matter of CSI in my 'own' thread and wanted to keep it that way, than you very much.

Re: Naturalisation document help

I am a spouse of BC an applying for naturalisation of that basis, could I submit driving licence as a proof of his nationality instead of passport or is that not acceptable? Please start your own topic for future questions. Copy of passport is required. I have done in the past and it got merged.

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Again, I would like to emphasize- it is not the card itself but the fact that you are insured back in your country of nationality. The card is considered to a short term solution because it is assumed that after long periods of absence you will have lost the access to your national health care (stop...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

I don't think intentions are relevant anymore. The rationale behind EHIC is that you are insured in your home country and will not be a burden on a host country (same as private health insurance). That's at the root of whole CSI business. Why not just provide a statement from you health authorities ...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

As now there's a precedent of people who were granted citizenship without CSI. The legislation hasn't changed.
So if someone in exactly same circumstances was to apply now as opposed to a year ago they would be rejected because of the timing.
How is that consistent ?

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

I've just emailed my local MP.

This new hmm 'approach' is ridiculous to honest. HO should have made it clear form the beginning or discarded the requirement for good.

Just out of curiosity - how are you going to prove it was not your intention to stay in the UK ? :D

On a serious note- the fact that you held EHIC/ was insured in your home country should suffice.

OT Re universities, the staff is so incompetent it make my blood boil ... We were told by the lecturer something to the tune of .. as long you're working or stud...

Re: AN application for parent with Settled Status + no CSI

It is all because after a year or so HO chose to revert to its previous position re interpretation of the law with settled status not being 'enough' which, in all honesty, it isn't, not under the current legislation anyway. Since settled status is not 'enough' all that PR palava will bleed into Natu...

Re: Should I volunteer the information to HO or will they contact me?

I’m not aware you have to exercise treaty rights only one time for 5 years somewhere in the past. I know it’s only valid if you acquired PR and apply with PR as you can backdate it. Also their request is quite obvious talking about the last 3/5 years of lawful residence and not saying any period of...

Re: Should I volunteer the information to HO or will they contact me?

Come to think of it ... What if, say the EHIC expired but I am still insured back in my home country. Does that not count for the purposed of ' 5 year qualifying period'? I am of opinion that its not the card itself that insures you but the fact that you are being insured ( by the virtue of paying c...

Re: Should I volunteer the information to HO or will they contact me?

Yes, the form E104 I have as well it states the beginning and ending of my former insurance. I didn’t attach nor translated it because I only use the letter confirming everything. Like I said that was before my qualifying time. The last 3/5 years it’s what matters. What I am saying is : If I was th...

Re: Should I volunteer the information to HO or will they contact me?

Well, authorities back in my country seem to be thinking that form E104 (as it covers the period when one was insured ) would suit best but I'm not too sure how would that go down with the HO. I just ask them to send me a statement/ certificate stating the fact that I was insured for the relevant pe...
