Re: Foreign Birth Registration

As of the time of writing this, I have almost all of my documents in line. One document that I am not sure that I can obtain is my grandparents' marriage certificate. My family and I are pretty sure that my grandparents eloped out of state and then returned to New York and had a church ceremony aft...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Also, two of the four passport photos need to be witnessed. How are people doing this? There’s not much space on the back of a passport photo, so I’m not sure how they are expecting a certified as true statement, name, date, signature, official stamp and address etc. Handy tip for anyone with pets ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Just managed to request a paper copy of my vaccination status from NHS Scotland so that's one sorted. Just need to request an up-to-date bank statement and then after that all I need is passport photos? Do the Irish have separate requirements for passport photos or can I just walk into any old phot...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I don’t find these stats particularly reassuring considering my documents were received June 2019 but I have not heard anything. Based on the conversations I believe I may be the longest in the queue. My fear is that my application is lost in the shuffle. Any advise? After nearly 30 months and hear...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Are the people on this board still using the tracking Google sheet? Does someone keep an eye on postings by new users that may not know about the sheet and enter their info for them? It's such a great tool it would be a shame to have it lapse. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/127de6t5A5Q3XzKBO...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

SLWyss, thanks so much for putting together the Google sheet. Great work! On the montly summary page, could you freeze row 1 with the column titles, so when you scroll down you can remember what the columns mean? I think you do that by clicking on the "1" in the leftmost column and then fr...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

My 1st-time paper passport application is finally showing a status of "Processing" in the Passport Tracker. However, the estimated issue date is 17 months away. Really hoping the system will recalibrate and shorten that time estimate. Good luck to all who are waiting. My timeline: FBR: Ap...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi Flatcap_Julius. Sorry to burst your hope-bubble but all you can do is wait in line like the rest of us. Unless you are pregnant, of course, which is the only workaround I know of.
Cheers!

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi all, Just got a newsletter from the Boston Consulate, and they mention that US residents can now apply for first passport online. I had seen that from another consulate (SF?) Apparently nationwide now. Here's the link: https://www.dfa.ie/passportonline/ US, NZ, Canada, Australia, Europe, Ireland,...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

After receiving a notice of receipt of my application from the FBR office on Jul 4th, 2019, I heard nothing further. Today I did an extensive search in my deleted, spam and archived email files and found a message from Oct 2020 asking for clarification of certain items of information and indicating...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi Frozen,

You say:
- Four passport photos for my son and four passport photos for myself - will obtain this as the last step.

What's the purpose of the photos of yourself? If you are not applying for FBR for yourself, why the photos?

Hi Jordan, How did you send your documents from the US to the FBR PO box in Ireland? I just tried DHL and they do not deliver to PO Boxes. Hi all, Just got the last piece of documentation I need for my FBR application (from US). I have 2 questions - first what size/format to the photos need to be? Hi all, Looking for my GF/GM 1907 marriage certificate in NY state. Just heard back from the town that they do not have any record of the marriage. Re: Foreign Birth Registration
