HI, I am really confused about the Tier1 dependent funds maintenance. I am living in the UK since October 2011, and now I need to apply for a dependent visa for my wife, who is in India. How much funds should I maintain in my account? The policy guidance says that it has to be 1600£ + additional fun...

you can claim age points now for your extension. The age for claiming points during extension = your age at the time of your initial application, if this is your first application for extension

Thanks for your response.

Does your No mean:
- it is not possible to switch from Tier 1 to Tier2 dependent
or
- it is not possible to switch from T1 to T2 dependent from within UK?

Hi,
When my Tier 1 expire, I may not qualify for T1 extension, given the new point based system. My spouse is on Tier 2. Is it possible to switch from Tier 1 to Tier 2 dependent visa?

@friend..
i have the same question. right now the market isnt very good. (not just for vlsi/asic) there are less jobs because of the bad market.
how far have you reached with your visa? if you are planning to resign before finding a job; i would suggest: hang on for some time

you could look at part time study while working on Tier1. of course it would take longer than the full time, but you would be in a comfortable situation for FLR
