Re: Tier 2 Gen Extension

It starts after taking the biometric.

Those locations are in the libraries which are all closed across the country, there are still many offices available by Sopra Steria, but uncertain until when.

Re: Tier 2 Extension - no photos?

I will do so for my previous passport as well, it's just there are so many pages stamped and I don't have a proper scanner, but using camera seems not too bad either. Yeah I had no idea the sponsor did not report this, this was done 2 years ago, and it was an act of promotion and fair pay according ...

Re: Tier 2 Extension - no photos?

Wondering if I have to upload all pages in the current passport and previous passport or only the first page of each passport suffice for making an extension application?

There are no guidelines regarding this.

Re: Tier 2 Extension - no photos?

On the side note, my application seems to be all good except there is a Note which is related to salary. The HR has put the previous salary in the CoS, and amended it via Note. I realised they have not reported the salary raise of 20K before the new CoS issued, but they reported as a Note in the CoS...

Re: Tier 2 Extension - no photos?

I was lucky enough to find an appointment for 26th in Croydon. The only worry is that the trains may not work until then from Victoria and so may need to arrange an Uber. Buses also don't go there!

Tier 2 Extension - no photos?

I applied for an extension few days ago and got a premium appointment for 26th of this month. After completing it, the mandatory documents I am asked to provide: - Proof of identity (BRP) - Proof of application (Passpprt) I have already uploaded these documents and also in the Optional document sect...

Re: Business/secondary income on tier 2

You are only allowed to earn from your employer( or employers in case of a secondary job in the same sector), any additional earnings will be in breach of the T2 visa as you're not allowed to run a side business. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_d...

Re: Tier2 General- Switching the company

So you are not going to get paid in your 2 months notice as garden leave? That's really unfair.

There is no gap rule when applying for IRL on 5 years T2 route, as long as you stay in the same visa route legally during the 5 years.

Re: ILR 28 days

Is that different than 5 years route?

For 5 years it is up to 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the date of issue of their entry clearance provided they meet all the requirements for settlement.

Re: SOC code changes will affect my ILR

As long as you are continuing on a Tier 2 visa route, change of job's sector will not affect ILR.

Re: Business/secondary income on tier 2

Self employment is not possible on a Tier 2, so any of those activities you mentioned are in breach of it, investing in stocks included. You can take up a secondary job as long as it's in the same sector up to 20 hours a week. The tax for the secondary job is managed the same way as your primary job...

Re: Tier 2 & Self-employment

You can have a secondary job with the same job area that you got your Tier 2 visa under condition that you're still satisfying your primary job, as long as it's PAYE, no LTD contract but legit part-time work that the company pays the tax for you just like your primary job. For Tier 2 visa, you can n...

Re: Long absences from the UK under Tier 2

There should not be any problem, the officers check the expiry date on your BRP on return. They "may" ask questions about your long absence but you just answer it was a business trip.

The only problem might be ILR which you said you don't pursue.

There's no mention of report for ILR, on gov website.

Re: Currently Tier2, want to extend UK time with Visitor visa after retiring

I think it makes sense to stay until you receive the letter from home office that you need to leave the UK. This letter can take up to few months even, so it's unknown the end date of your stay. if you leave and come back you are still on Tier 2 until you receive the deadline. So I would stay until ...

Re: PBS dependent extension- Change in address

I think it's important you do, because if you don't next time you're extending your visa or apply for ILR, they find your new address not the one they've got registered.

Re: Forgot to inform police for my change of address for 3 weeks

3 weeks is nothing. Some people report after 10 months!

They usually give a warning for the first time.

They may stamp it as registration delayed at most! So not to worry.

Make sure to update us after you settle this :)

Yes, they mention you must report change of circumstances. Although I'm not sure how strict this might be but worth to do it when you realise it.

Re: Police registration confusion

This happened to me as well. My nationality is in the list, but there is no requirement on the visa vignette. I am about to extend my Tier 2 general visa, and will go ahead without worrying about this. As you are not imposed to report to police personally. Here's the proof that you can show to your ...
