It really depends, possibly luck, possibly your application is straightforward. I have a colleague that applied this year and got her response after 2 months (not even EU, Ukrainian)

Re: Continous Residency Requirement

"Their home" I interpret it as you are a homeowner here in the UK (mortgage or not doesn't matter).

You can definitely use the pandemic as a reason for those excess absences

Re: Application Refused - is it worth to appeal?

Did you apply online? The website normally does a good job of asking detailed questions, then telling you what documents you should provide, whether you are a British citizen already (sometimes that happens, an agreeable surprise for the applicant) or if you do not qualify. You can ask your friend ...

Re: 100 days abroad in the last 12 months

is it not 90 days absence in 12 months? I'm pretty sure its 90 days AN guide, page 12 Absences from the UK during the last 12 months of your qualifying period will be considered in the following way: 6(1) and 6(2) applications Normal permitted absences in final 12 months of your qualifying period 9...

Re: 100 days abroad in the last 12 months

100 days absences in the last 12 months are fine and normally disregarded. Things change from 101 onwards.

If I was you allow just in case a tolerance of 5 days.

Re: Proof of being in UK 5 years before (on the day)

Luckily I kept the same bank account when I came to the UK so I was able to check the transactions exactly 5 years before from the application (actually it's the day after, 5 years back). From an guide: For example, if your application is received on 05/01/2022 you should have been physically presen...

Re: Continous Residency Requirement

Is there any particular reason of the excess of absences like compassionate/work/pandemic/health ? These can be accompanied by a small cover letter during the application but be prepared for them to be challenged (proof). It's naturalisation by discretion, so if the case worker that will review your...

Re: Call from caseworker

Considering also all the scams that we get on a daily basis by text or calls, very strange that case workers try to reach out by phone  . Most of the people don't answer unsolicited calls/texts

Re: Naturalisation/Citizenship and Traffic/Speeding Fines abroad.

If they happened abroad and didn't lead to a criminal conviction (like driving drunk for example) I would just avoid mentioning them at all in the naturalisation form.

Re: HO asking for life in the uk test letter, failing to follow their own guidance

This is so strange, what did they request exactly in the email sent to you ? Clearly from https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/968974/koll-v27.0ext.pdf From 17 December 2019, PSI will not issue pass notification letters and instead applicant...

Be aware of these constraints from Home Office guide : of 100 days or less; exercise discretion • between 100 and 180 days, where the residence requirement across the qualifying period is met – discretion is only appropriate where the applicant demonstrates strong links through the presence of famil...

UKCVAS upload other documents after self submission

I have my UKCVAS appointment tomorrow and I've already submitted all the documents required but missed 4 documents. The UKCVAS allowed me to upload the 4 documents but I can't submit submit anymore (only once). I wanted to advise tomorrow the assistant that I've uploaded those 4 documents so they ne...
