Hi All I will be collecting my mom's passport tomorrow and hopefully it should have a letter asking her to get a temporary stamp 4 done. My question is - would anyone here have any guidance, tips, experience to share about the process? Would be really useful for me to know if there is a right time t...

In my case - I came in and looked to settle with the option of applying for my mom's dependent application without any additional constraints when the time came and making alternative arrangements in the meanwhile. I am not bringing up a law which changed long before it affected me or long after it...

As I said, I can't ask them to shelve the new policy. all I'm asking is for a fair chance to apply as per the policy that existed when my decision was made. People coming in under the newer policy know that up front what they are going in for. I'm being told of the change when I'm already committed...

newperson - I dont need to get into your personal choices but if your parents were dependent on you and above 65 years of age, it was completely your choice to sponsor them or not. My mum's not dependent upon me and is getting excellent care. But even if that weren't the case, it doesn't change the...

In effect all I am asking for is to be allowed for an adult dependent's application to be judged based on earlier rules as that's what I came here with. What about me? I was born in the UK in 1962 and would like all the laws that were on the statues at that time to apply to me now! That, in effect,...

Other than that, I don't have much use for your post again as I only asked for people who supported me to get in touch, not for everyone else to do a critical analysis of my request. I do hope you get a chance to make a better use of your time on this forum by helping them. You posted on an open fo...

Would be good in some way if people like you supported me, but at the end of the day its my battle and I'm fighting it. I'm an immigrant like you. I also have elderly parents. In fact, I'm spending extended leave with my mother right now overseas as she battles an aggressive, terminal cancer. I too...

5) My request for staying here, working here and then settling here were all based on how much I could earn and contribute to the economy with my skills as a professional. I severely doubt that. You looked at the UK and thought "There's a country that really needs me - I don't care what it's l...

My example was placing the extreme example of your argument that your culture's duties should be accepted by the UK. I'm not equating anything to murder - I am merely providing an example of another culture's duty that would not be permissable in the UK. The fact that they are your culture's duties...

You tone seem to suggest that paying tax at the 40% threshold in some way makes your case (against the UK's position on non-nuclear family migration) more solid or reasonable. Why is that? If the UK were to allow this sort of migration, it would have to completely overhaul (abandon!) its welfare st...

Furthermore, your wishes and desires are diametrically opposed to the wishes and desires of the overwhelming majority or UK residents and tax payers (which, incidentally, I am not a part of). I'm not sure if you have a verified survey to back your claims but if there was one, I would like to see ho...

Shahidabegum and others, as mentioned in another thread, I include here my letter to my MP. Please let me know if any of the others are willing to join up...

Hi Jami I've been going through the posts on this thread as well as others but still not sure where my case fits. Hi Jimpo I think I can see some sense in what the case worker is saying. Here's how I see it : Your company is saving money by paying you dollars, may be lower than market and regulations. You are saving by paying tax in India although earning in dollars because of some double taxation treaty betwee...
