First Adult British Passport - Some questions

I am sure this question has probably been asked numerous times, but I would be grateful if people could share their experience. Has anyone successfully applied for a first adult British passport when they no longer had their previous, expired passports? I have lost the passport I entered the UK with...

I was approved on 27th May and today I received my invitation letter from Essex Council. The long wait is finally coming to an end :)

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

I have not been able to get any sort of response from Essex Council, they wouldn't even tell me if they are resuming ceremonies. They just said I have to wait until I get an invitation in the post.

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know that I received my decision today and my application was successful! I applied before the guidance changed and I have not received any emails from the caseworker asking me to provide CSI (in my case this would have been needed for about 6 months out of the 5 yea...

This link might be helpful to some on here. Read from Page38. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/867466/eea-qualified-persons-v7.0ext.pdf This is helpful, thank you! I wonder if caseworkers will be using this document to establish if the ...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Unfortunately, apart from the newly updated naturalisation guidance which allows for discretion to be exercised, there is nothing to confirm or deny whether CSI will impact the 10y period regarding the GCR. This article appears to confirm my view, as far as I can tell, and disambiguates well betwee...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Yes, I do understand that. I guess my comment was more for anyone who has already applied for naturalisation a while back and are waiting for a response. That response could very well be an email from the caseworker asking for CSI. I am only saying that I will use the fact that I was given a regist...

Re: Is CSI required for Non-EEA family member and EEA national applying for citizenship with settled status

So what happened if you can't provide CSI? they cancel your settled status or they close the way to BC? I do not think so. They definitely do not cancel settled status. If you cannot provide CSI, the caseworker is advised to decide if they think they should apply discretion in this case. So the opt...

Re: CSI and settle status. Big issues for everybody

This is exactly what I have been worrying about for the last 6 months. I applied in December 2019 and there was no guidance regarding CSI and Settled Status back then. I ended up doing so much research regarding this issue but back then the Home Office had no guidance on how CSI will work for Settle...

Could my application be refused?

After reading too many topics on here, I am freaking out and I am starting to think that my application could be refused on the basis of the good character requirement. I am an EU citizen and between 2010 and 2014 I was a student without CSI (comprehensive sickness insurance). Like others before me ...

Re: UK Citizenship advice for my EU husband with EU Settled status

Does settled status retrospectively change whether one was 'in breach of the immigration laws' a year before? The phrase 'in breach of the immigration laws' is defined in the BNA 1981 - being 'in breach of the immigration laws' does not imply that there is any law that one was in breach of. In the ...

Re: Proof of number of days out of UK

From my experience doing my own application and reading a lot of the posts here, it doesn't seem like you need actual proof, but rather just list all your trips in the last 5 years in that part of the application. I am an EU citizen and my passport doesn't get stamped either, so I went through all m...

Thank you very much for your reply alterhase58. I know I am overthinking the process and the waiting processing times make it hard. Applied for British naturalisation with EU Settled Status

Dear all, I am writing this post mostly due to the anxiety I have been feeling while waiting for a decision to be made on my application. While waiting I have to admit that I have been overthinking every step of my application and trying to find out if I have in any way misunderstood the process. To...
