Re: First Time application- minor Irish passport

May be fill in the residency calculator form as we all did before we apply for naturalisation certificate ,alternatively email INIS and ask them to give you an official letter ,I think both will be OK but the second one will be better as it will be an official letter from INIS stating all the dates ...

Re: First time passport application

Re: First time passport application

I am afraid to say its not only them ,the whole civil service in Ireland comes to halt in the month of August .
The whole civil service here is inefficient .The same pandemic is worse across the border in the UK but if you look at them people are getting their passports within 2-4 weeks .

Re: First time passport application

Well I can't vote on civil service incompetency, can I? I am just raising an issue on how this whole process is being conducted, I am not a lawyer but I think if a government department gives us a date then they are legally responsible for delivering on that day. I also have come to a conclusion that...

Re: First time passport application

I just don't understand that how can scanning and an entitlement officer looking at it and saying it's OK can take 2 months. On the matter of checking our identity and documents we have been getting our work permits and stamps from them every year, I believe they have few copies of my birth passport...

Re: First time passport application

If they say there is a backlog then they should work extra hours to clear it or deploy more staff, I think the civil service needs to cop on and starts processing it within due time

Re: First time passport application

I think I agree with Summer 2021, I know citizenship is not entitlement but you are entitled to a passport as an Irish citizen. They have already confirmed our identity during the NATURALIZATION phase. I think there is a famous solicitor firm who is taking DFA to High Court on unnecessary waits for ...

If my memory serves me right I believe there is box on form 8 where they say if there is an offence committed by the applicant kindly disclose it, if you got the points after the application there is no harm in informing them

Re: E vetting and citizenship application

I would advise to declare it as if it comes on the vetting disclosure they would say why didn't you tell us, atleast if you disclose they can't come back and say your actions were dishonest

Re: Not at home for return of my foreign passport during citizenship application?

My experience was different, I got a call from team 3 and said that I missed my delivery and the passport was returned to them.
