As mentioned please do not redact or tamper the documents as this can stay with you forever, even if you get a visa and ILR and years down the line Home Office find out the document was tampered with it could be used against you to remove ILR or your status in the UK as being obtained by deception. ...

Self employed If you are applying under Category F or G on the basis of being a sole-trader, partner, franchisee , director etc, then, as i understand it, you will need to provide 12 months (or 2 years if a specified company) of financial evidence. To come to the UK legally, if he is from a country which does not have visa free travel to the UK, he will need a some kind of visa, this could be a visa for family, work, study etc.

It isn't this. The call centre is outsourced to a third party agent, you are not speaking to ukvi people at all.

It is the family option.
