Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

But if you have no conformed to the EU directive for the first year(s) (within 10 years), even if you had acquired PR afterward, you still don't qualify for BC (unless the caseworker applies discretion). I think you qualify when you qualify there isn’t a timescale if you haven’t any criminal record...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

In my case it more complicated, I came in June 1989. I have acquired PR under 2004/38/EC from the first 5 years but I don't have the documents to show, then I studied 3 years from 1995 to 1098 (I had my country CSI cover, even when I didn't need it as I already had PR ) but don't have document to s...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

If you're referring to page 26 of the new guidance which instructs the caseworker to " assess whether the individual has been here lawfully during their 3 or 5 year residential period prior to pre-settled status or settled status ", then yes, I think it's safe to say that this refers to a...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

... I 've mentioned ''a not being married to a brit'' in that scenario. As a married to a brit can apply for BC as soon as he/she acquires Settled status and in that case he/she need the full 10 years CSI cover if that scenario was about a married to a brit and have studied for 10 years. I understa...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

To my understanding the CSI issue is regarding the "good character" requirement, not the residency, therefore the 10 years term. Precisely ! Settled Status is only certifying you are free from emigration restrictions, then you have 5 years of paid CSI for the qualifying period so where is...

Re: Exercising treaty right and CSI requirements

With the May update of the guidance for British citizenship application, apparently they are asking for 5 years CSI if you have Settled Status and you were not in work or a self-sufficient person or a student...I still don't know what is requested in the online form, read the thread 'General discuss...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

I can’t quote for some reason...anyway The qualifying period for British Citizenship applications is 3 or 5 years counting back the date you applied for British Citizenship, to meet the residence requirements, you should not have been in breach of immigration law during the residential qualifying pe...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

“ A Home Office spokesperson insisted there was no change to the guidance issued in 2018, saying: “These requirements are not new and have always been in place. Well good to know because the British Citizenship Application qualifying period is 3 or 5 years always counted from the date of the Britis...

CSI required for Citizenship

Hello, I’m self sufficient and now I have 5 years CSI but I applied and got Settled Status before having the full 5 years of CSI because it was not requested anymore and they were you pushing you applying for Settled Status as soon as possible, so I did. Now what do I do if I want to apply for Briti...

Coronavirus and tests

Hello,
will it be considered inappropriate to attend a language B1 exam and the life in the UK test in the current coronavirus situation and advice? Are you going anyway or just delaying everything? Anyone has any thoughts about it? Thanks

Evidence dates

Hello,
I am preparing bank statements as evidence of lawful residence for 5 years, how close can the date of the latest statement be to the application date? Example if the application date is 25/3 can last statement be from 6/2 to 5/3?
Thanks for your help

Re: British Citizenship application for self-sufficient

Thank you for helping me! I’m also confused about timing, but maybe it’s a silly question. Do I need to take the tests of English Gese 5 B1 CEFR and Life in the UK test after the 5 years lawful residency + 12 months, which for me is in April, or can I go for it starting now...?

Re: British Citizenship application for self-sufficient

I also have another question. Do I need to prove all absences from the UK for the 5 years period and to have been physically present in the UK the exact same date of the application 5 years before?

Re: British Citizenship application for self-sufficient

Thank you so much for answering me! Are the Council Tax Bills sufficient even if I don't pay for them? I know CSI wasn't requested for my Settled Status but I was not sure about citizenship application, I didn't find anything ruling it out

British Citizenship application for self-sufficient

Hello, I'm Italian and I've got Settled Status, I don't know which type of documents to submit as proof of 5 years lawful residency. I don't work so I'm not sure what documents to use. I have the Council Tax Bills, my name is on them but I didn't pay for the bills, my partner did, are they good enou...
