I'm in the same boat. My EEA2 application went in on the 1st December but we didn't include our passports as surprise surprise some people need to travel. Never mind the grief I have had at Heathrow two out of four times being told to wait for 30 minutes and been made to look like a criminal while t...

6 months is nearly up for an EEA2 application

I currently have an EEA2 application underway which was received by the HO on the 1st December 2007. We did our application with the assistance of a solicitor and provided certified copies of our passports so we could travel. Currently the BIA website says they are still looking at applications rece...

Can I please ask this again:

Thanks, Tom Is there anything I can print out legally that could strengthen my case at the border? If I can present some 'evidence' to support my entry then I could at least feel a little better about travelling and have some HO or BIA documentation to back me up rather than saying I've spoken to so...

Travelling while EEA2 in progress current workpermit expired

I have an EEA2 application in progress since 30 November 2007 after marrying my French wife in July 2007. I have been on a Work Permit since 2002 which expired in January 2008. (We went travelling for 18months which is why I cannot apply for permanent residency now). I had submitted my application w...

Thanks for the advice. Would my wife be able to travel with me, cross the border into France whether being checked or not and turn around and fly immediately back from Geneva. Would I then be legal in France as we entered together but she returned earlier and would I have issues leaving? Also, if I ...

How can I get a visa if the French don't issue one without 3 months left on a UK visa.

I could go skiing in Switzerland but it's not quite the same going by myself when all your friends are elsewhere.

Can I use Directive 2004/38/EC to travel to France?

I am a South African citizen living and working in the UK. I have been on a work permit for 4 years and married a French citizen in France in July 2007. My work permit expired on the 17th January 2008 but I applied for a Family Permit based on my marriage to a French wife with form EEA2. This applic...

Thanks for all the information thsths. I'm a little uncertain how a family permit differs from a residence card. If I am currently applying for a residence permit with form EEA2 how is this different from a family permit and what are the implications of being comitted to EU law? Am I able to get a f...

Visa for non EU national married to EU national both current

I'd like some advice please to check whether I am applying for the correct visa and what my future residency options are. I am South African and have been in the UK since May 2000, initially as a Working Holiday Maker and then on 2 Work Permits since January 2002. I met my French wife in June 2000 a...
