Re: Very worried for My brother who is due to bring his tai wife to uk

As mentioned on the other forum you posted on, his Thai wife would need to pass the English exam A1 and a medical and TB X-ray, to get here in the first place, along with application fees and IHS (NHS) surcharge. Then after 2.5 years in the UK she would have to apply for FLR(M), for a further 2.5 ye...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Well, after all the trouble we went to, to find and book a biometric appointment, which was in Southampton, far from where we live, they have now cancelled it, because they aren't opening on Saturday 2nd January. Couldn't they have decided that before releasing the appointment date into the system!...

Re: Naturalisation - Appointment booking

Any thoughts on my above post/question, anyone, please? I am concerned that the appointment we have booked in early January might get cancelled as it is in a high risk area and far from where we live. The way the system is, it seems that because we have an appointment booked already, we are unable t...

Re: Naturalisation - Appointment booking

Once you have booked a biometric appointment, am I right in thinking that the UKVCAS (Sopra Steria) system won't then allow you to look round for a better or alternative appointment? We couldn't get an appointment at the centre nearer to where we live (1.5hrs away), which is a library and only open ...

Re: Supporting Document Return

As a related question, I note several of you have referred to requesting the return of supporting documents by secure delivery. Is there an alternative, i.e. allow return by standard delivery? If so, might that get the documents returned more quickly, because the PO wouldn't have to wait for the do...

Regarding uploading categories, what category would you suggest uploading the referees declarations?

And similarly a covering letter clarifying answers to one of the questions on the application?

Re: Citizenship/Naturalisation Questions

I think I am erring towards answering both as "no", on the basis that she is no longer a child/dependant. But propose to explain in the section for any additional information.

No
Wouldn't we have said "Yes" in answer to the first question (as she was admitted as a dependent and in effect was granted ILR as an adult/dependent), and then "No" to the later one, as she isn't a child for the purpose of the last question.

Re: Where do I request a record of the number of days I spent outside of UK in the last 10 years?

I have been in the UK as a foreigner for 7 years now and I am planning to stay here long enough to get the permanent residence status. My plan is to be on tier 4 visa for 9 years and then work visa for 1 year, within this 10 years not spending more than 540 days outside of the UK. Issue is, I can m...

Right of Abode (ROA) certificate

Can anyone explain to me when a Right of Abode (ROA) certificate is relevant? Is it for example, for someone who has obtained ILR but doesn't wish to apply for British citizenship? Or perhaps for someone who has been naturalised -i.e. holds British Citizenship, but doesn't wish to apply for a Britis...

Re: FLR M refused - do I face deportation?

The way I see it, it has nothing to do with the situation regarding your family members. It's a case of (if I understood the situation correctly) you came to the UK on a visa visit, knowing that it is a condition of that visit visa that you leave at the end of the permitted time. Period. If you over...

Re: Spouse visa Application

Thank you Korekt. These documents should be within 28 days, right? Yes My understanding is that the financial documents submitted should be (dated) within the 28 days BEFORE the date of submission of the application though, not 28 days after submission. They can be uploaded after, but should have b...
