Are we expected to get a second email? Or the ref I received is a confirmation payment processed? Thanks.
I got two emails, one to say the payment had been received and then a second one a week later to say that it had been processed.

I don't think this email means anything - it's just a generic update. I had a very similar one in December last year and nothing since.

Any idea how long from this email

Re: Naturalisation - how are years calcuated?

I asked them this specific question and was told that it was calendar year rather than 12-month period - so if you are claiming naturalisation based on living in the country for five years from May 2016 to May 2021, you require proof of residence documents dated 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021...

'Processing of your application is well advanced'

Hi, I applied for citizenship by naturalisation in May, received my passports back in August and hadn't heard anything since then. I emailed last week asking if there was any update on the status of my application and received a response today saying 'Processing of your application is well advanced ...

Re: Passport return after initial citizenship application

agliolio - the Acknowledgement is a letter received by post which also contains the payment receipt and your passports.

Regarding my missing ones - they randomly turned up yesterday, over a month after they were supposedly delivered! Thanks everyone for your advice.

Re: Irish Citizenship applications and return of current Passport

Definitely worth emailing them - when I contacted them at the beginning of this month asking about mine I was told they'd sent it at the beginning of August and it was tracked as delivered! Now in the process of attempting to establish whether they sent it to the wrong address or An Post delivered i...

Passport return after initial citizenship application

INIS are getting back to me on this but thought I might get an answer faster here. My passports were posted back to me by Express Post in August and tracked as delivered but I haven't received them. I now need to take this up with An Post so could anybody tell me what type, size and colour of envelo...

Re: Irish Citizenship applications and return of current Passport

Hmm, I got an email at the end of July asking to confirm the address to send my passport back to (I don't remember missing a call but I may have done?). I replied, but have had no further contact and no passports. I emailed again at the end of last week but imagine it'll be a while before I get a re...

I got an email from them yesterday to say they were about to return my passports and wanted to check the address to post them to - so looks like they're working though the backlog reasonably quickly.

Citizenship applications - return of passports

Has anyone who submitted an application since March had their passport returned yet? I sent mine off at the end of May (in the couple of days when the advice was that it was okay to send as long as the application was complete, before they changed it to 'strongly advise waiting until mid-July') and ...

Re: Naturalization 2020 new application

As per the new FAQ's on INIS website, they are now accepting new applications. Where does it say that - can you post a link? I can see a notice from yesterday that they are now allowing electronic applications for 'permission to remain in the state letters' for Stamps 1, 1A, 1G, 2 and 4, but can't ...

Police certificate with initial application?

I lived in the UK prior to moving to Ireland five years ago. It appears from this board that everybody in this situation is being requested to submit a police clearance certificate from the country they lived in previously after making a citizenship by naturalisation initial application. Would it th...

Letters advising on progress/success of citizenship application

Hi, This clearly isn't relevant until everything opens up again but thinking ahead... When letters are sent out advising on various stages of your citizenship application progress/asking for more information, etc. are they just normal letters or are they sent recorded delivery/signed for? In 'normal...

Re: Irish citizenship application help

Might be relevant: I contacted the naturalisation office to confirm exactly how the 'years' were defined - i.e. if I was claming naturalisation based on residence from March 2015 to March 2020, did I need three proofs of address for the year March 2015 to March 2016, three for March 2016 to March 20...
