Re: EEA Family Permit in light of EU court ruling on Ireland

With regard to the EU court ruling against Ireland demanding prior residence in an EU state to issue residence card to non EU family members of EU citizens, can anyone tell me whether those family members of EU citizens applying for EEA family permits from outside of the EU/EEA , still have to sati...

benifa, the unfortunate thing is that the EU regulations leave a lot to be desired.. Oh I completely agree with you. The scope for interpretation of EU directives (especially 2004/38/EC), by Member States, is dangerously vast. The recent Irish case is a perfect example. And you're right, in time th...

If you remember, the UK says that for family members to apply for an EEA they must be legally resident in the EU. The UK says no such thing. Quite a number of EEA Family Permits are issued each year, at British Missions outside the EU or EEA. Uk will issue a family permit if you apply from outside ...

New case: Metock and others

Today European Court of Justice gave the judgement on Metock and others, it was about being lawfully resident in an EU state prior to application for EEA Family Permit. ECJ ruled such a requirement was inconsistent with EU directive, so that's the precedent. Just google on "Metock judgement C-1...

What do you mean casework instructions were updated? What particular aspect are you referring to? Is it public domain yet?

Also, why would it be a lot of hassle? You mean at the British embassy in Holland? Can they put up obstacles?
Thanks

Thanks, everybody. Added their names on electricity and water bills, and also bought an additional TV license in one of their names. Council tax bill actually more of a challenge, the guy there told me that they will only put the name of the person liable for it, i.e. me. They would only add parents...

EEA2 family application - proof of address/dependency HELP!!

Hi everybody. I am a Dutch citizen, my parents are non-EU citizens. They entered the country on EEA family permit in January and we applied for residence cards with EEA2 forms. Today we got a letter from Home Office asking for the following: - evidence to show that they both live with me such as cor...

Thanks for your reply. You say "check the DSPs for proof" - what's DSP?

I am inclined exactly that - apply for residence card ASAP, but what worries me still, if they refuse does it mean they can never get any other visa again because ECO will think they'll stay here.

My parents have come to visit me a couple of times on EEA Family Permit, we were planning to apply for EEA2 at some point for...
