Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Yes. Got an email from Cineworld as well and quite annoyed now. There is another news that the quarantine rule will be relaxed in July as travel opens. I really do not understand why councils and HO are the only people who are not willing to world. Called Barnet council today and well they are still...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

I have sent them an email and tried calling them. Will tell you if I hear anything. Can you please send them an email as well saying that other councils are planning to open so clearly it’s not the reason they are giving. We just want transparency. Hello. They responded but it seems like for now th...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

HI everyone! Really generic response. Can you let us know if they say something different? I have sent them an email and tried calling them. Will tell you if I hear anything. Can you please send them an email as well saying that other councils are planning to open so clearly it’s not the reason the...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

HI everyone! Good news for today!!! I have received a phone call from my council and they are starting the private ceremony next week. I was booked for Monday. :D :D :D Unfortunately the group ceremony is suspended so if you want to do it quicker just pay the fees for private one. My Local council ...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

I see that Merton council has started to allow citizenship ceremonies. I really hope that other councils will follow as well. In the news today is that Cineworld will be opening on 10th July as well, understand that citizenship Ceremonies are not priority but given that every other non-essential thi...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Try to call or email HO and your council and ask them that your invitation is expiring in a month. Seeing the queues outside primary and Bicester village, there shouldn’t be any excuse that they need to extend your by another 3 months. At least you can have a private ceremony.

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

The government has also allowed places of worship to open and allow private prayers. There is no excuse for councils to not allow private ceremonies. If they continue with their excuses then we should contact someone from the government, maybe the local MPs because I fail to understand why councils ...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Reply I received from Barnet council: Thank you for your email. We are aware that following the announcement by the Government, there is an intention to potentially enable small ceremonies from the 1st June, however this will be conditional on other factors being met. At this time, the guidance prov...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Hi,

Does anyone have an update regarding ceremonies? It’s getting a bit annoying as non essential shops are starting to open but councils are not planning or opening anything.

Not even private ceremonies where there is ample space to practice the required social distancing measures.

Re: Citizenship ceremony cancelled due to covid

Hi all, Post announcement by the government last night (which wasn’t very clear to me) but it seems that it is encouraged to resume activities taking strict precautions. Can people please contact their councils to see if they are offering ceremonies now (private or public). And share with group here...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

Hi all,

Those waiting on ceremonies, any update? Or the status across all councils is same that currently there are no ceremonies?
Did anyone contact HO lately?

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

Hello 👋, I know it's annoying to tell and ask something about BC due to COVID 19. But I have been told that HO is doing work in homes 🏠 now. Also HO is thinking to arrange ceremonies online. But once again no official statement made by HO, not even what HO is going to do. Hi Small, Did HO mention t...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

There are so many people who applied weeks after me and have already started to get their naturalisation letters. I don’t know if I should panic or not, letter lost? Application complication? Any other issue? My application is pretty straight forward, there are no issues as far as I know so not sur...
