Re: Passport returned with accompanying letter, but no receipt or application number?

Verona you got your certificate within 10 months of applying for naturalisation. This is faster than anyone else who has posted on here. Do you mind me asking if you were a special case such as a doctor or nurse or other essential worker? Thank You It took 1 year, not 10 months to get the certifica...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

Looking for advice I'm thinking of sending an FOI request to see what's been happening with my Citizenship application. I've been waiting for 20 months now. I seem to be getting the usual copy & paste replies every time I request an update. Do you think it will have an impact on my application ...

Thanks very much Vorona for the reply. Do you have please references to confirm it should be hand written. I could not see anything like that in here:

Re: Irish Citizenship Application - Irish References

Hi, With regards to the 3 Irish references, I am wondering if the form is filled with a scanned signature will be enough, or does it have to be filled and signed manually on the printed form? Thank you very much. It must be hand filled and signed manually by each of the individuals acting as referee.

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

Thanks for replying Vorona. The reason I query if witnessing in NI is acceptable is because much of the original application used the term 'the state' interchangeably with 'the island of Ireland' and many application questions accepted 'the state' to encompass NI. Queries to the department to clari...

Re: Affidavits for approved applications and next ceremony

Hi, could anyone in NI who has received their certificate or been rejected please update here? We are trying to find out if we can use an NI based solicitor as witness for the declaration. I have emailed the minister about this in Jan and Feb but no reply. Thank you. The answer is "No" - ...

You can still get a US visa in the future if you can prove that you're eligible. For example you have good income, own a property, have a family in the UK and so on. There's no such thing as ban of people of Islamic religion. There are a lot of people from Pakistan, and other Muslim-majority countri...

You need to write your name as on your application:

From the guidance:
Important – your Name, Nationality and Date and Place of Birth which will be recorded on your certificate of naturalisation, should your application be approved, will be as stated by you in your application.

If your wife is not an Irish citizen, then you or your wife must have at least 3 full years of residence in Northern Ireland in the last 4 years at the time of your child's birth. If it's less than 3 years, then your child will not qualify for Irish citizenship. Since the UK is not a member of EU an...

Thanks. So roughly once a year.
It looks like they are routinely make vetting request after the initial one if application is delayed, just to be sure that nothing happened in the last year or so. I used to think that Garda checks take a long time, but apparently it's a pretty quick process.

And what are the time gaps between those requests roughly? I will probably request mine as well later...

She needs to apply for an Irish visa first. Visa-free regime for citizens of Brazil was cancelled in January. She may be able to travel to Ireland if her visa application is accepted, but with the current development in Brazil, chances are low.

If you are given a permission to live in Ireland with your EU citizen-partner but then married another person, regardless of that person's nationality, then you don't meet conditions of your permission anymore. When you got married to another person you should have informed GNIB of your marriage and...

Re: Owning a business in Ireland

Your questions are way too vague to give a specific answer. Generally, you can own a business in Ireland without being an a citizen of an EU country. However if you want to work and get paid in Ireland you will need employment permission if you are from USA, unless you're married to Irish or EU citi...
