Re: Naturalization - more than 6 weeks in 2016 - how to answer

Hi Vorona, May I ask why you are so sure that it's needed to recover the 6 weeks as well? That is not really clear to me when reading the form. I've seen some post here and also chatted to people that haven't done that and they got approved anyway. I know it's always better to be sure and wait, but...

Re: Next Ceremony

We are very happy you got your approval in less than an year, but please don't undermine people's frustration that has been waiting longer. I am sure you would feel the same if you were waiting 2 years for a straightforward information. Best regards You're not considering the delays caused by High ...

Re: Naturalization - more than 6 weeks in 2016 - how to answer

If you meet the criteria you can sign the declaration with your solicitor or notary and post the application when you can. Bear in mind, that the date on which you sign the statutory declaration will be viewed as the date of your application even if you send it at a later date. Don't get confused. R...

Re: Naturalization - more than 6 weeks in 2016 - how to answer

Oops, sorry. I meant 6 weeks, not 7. Pressed the wrong key  42 days or 6 weeks is the maximum time that you can spent outside of Ireland in any 12 months of your residence without declaring it as an absence. If you spent more than 42 days (this does not include days of departure and return)...

Re: Naturalization - more than 6 weeks in 2016 - how to answer

That's correct. You need to declare any absence of 7 weeks (42 days) or more in any fiscal year of her residence in Ireland. Be careful when doing your calculation. It's not just the days over 7 weeks that have to be deducted from calculation, but the entire absence. Create a small spreadsheet in Wo...

Re: Next Ceremony

All what you say is understandable and correct. However the delay in system is present pre-covid times and the lack of genuine effort from the department to resolve this issue is concerning - the Virtual ceremony was a big gimmick in 2020. I understand your frustration. But we can't say that applic...

Re: Separation and Divorce

You should have informed INIS of your relationship breakdown when it happened. Your husband is legally obliged to inform INIS of any changes in the circumstances, such as end of the relationship, separation and divorce, change of address and a few more. This was communicated to him when he received ...

Re: Next Ceremony

There are people out there who were approved in 2019 and have not been able to receive an invitation due to covid. Considering situation in the World this delays are understandable. Even if they started sending affidavits to approved applicant, it will be long before the backlog is cleared. I think ...

Re: Aplication acknowledgement not received after nearly 4 months

I think they contact the issuer of the passport. Some counterfeits are brilliant, but would fall short of the security checks on the issuer end of things. As you could imagine, language barriers are a big obstacle. They may send passports for authentication if they decide to do so. There have been ...

Re: Aplication acknowledgement not received after nearly 4 months

Passports have to be checked to ensure they are not counterfeit or altered in any way. This is crucial part of establishing identity of a person. They must be using special equipment or tools to check passports. It is also very likely that they are not allowed to take passports home. I've sent them ...

Re: Citizenship Applications - Content of Second Letter

Thanks. So it really should be send it to CMU2 so. They should change the wording heh. Also, that 13.3/4/5 part is confusing, isn't it, but as I say, it seems you don't have to fill it in if not a spousal application. https://www.newcommunities.ie/assets/files/pdf/ncpcitizenshipjuly_4.pdf (p40) Yes...

Re: Citizenship Applications - Content of Second Letter

Hi Zigandzag. That's right. I have applied on the basis of having enough residency, but sent my application to the CMU1. However I do not recommend to do that unless your application is based on marriage. I probably misunderstood the guidelines because I thought it was for anyone who is married to I...

Thank you! No there is nothing in the letter about affidavit or ceremonies unfortunately.

Thank you everyone!

If someone asks you about it, why can't you explain to them that you used your UK passport to enter Ireland and show them both passports? What exactly is the problem?

It will also be very handy if they could temporarily reduce the fee, since there will be no large expenses for organising ceremonies.
But I'm not holding my breath on this one

It will be handy if they will send the affidavits together with the approval letters, so they can be sent back with the payment and other documents.

Although I prefer to have a full official ceremony.

Stop creating separate threads for every utility bill. The questions are the same if a particular utility bill or a statement will be considered as a proof for 2020 or 2021.

You are creating duplicate threads.

Re: Leaving Ireland with a Turkish ID card dual citizenship

I thought the same. Ireland won't let them in using Turkish ID card, a proper Turkish passport is required. Therefore problem doesn't even exist as they will have to use the UK passport to enter Ireland and travel further to Turkey if they don't have Turkish passport. I seriously doubt that airline ...

I hope you mind your language and respect others. You're certainly don't.
