Re: Will citizenship application be held due to the separation with the EU?

I simply want to know if there is anybody has similar experience and see what will likely to happen, as I need to plan my life you know, if it will be held, then, I will probably need to plan my life ahead. I hope you can understand the stress of people who is posting their problems here. Stop righ...

Re: Will citizenship application be held due to the separation with the EU?

Plenty of advice given above. Contact the citizenship department if you want to know what's going to happen to your application specifically. It is very naive to hope that concealing such important information in order to avoid your citizenship application being delayed is going to remain unnoticed....

Re: Next Ceremony

"it may take a long time to get approved" whats your source for this info. According to minister in parlimentary question in December this was due to get finalised very early in 2021. Reality. As of now it has not been finalised yet. No updates have been published on the INIS website of s...

Re: Next Ceremony

Has anyone, who got application approved before COVID, received the affidavit/declaration to complete in order to be issued the certificate of naturalisation? Is there any timeline since the declaration of Minister for Justice Helen McEntee on this process? Temporary legislation for using affidavit...

You will hardly find someone who believes that their application is not straightforward. All you can do is wait.

Re: Aplication acknowledgement not received after nearly 4 months

It's honestly not that difficult to see if the money is there, that all the pages are there, the statutory declaration is completed etc. Passport verification could be done on site using all the necessary precautions. Rapid testing of the employees could easily solve the problem. The applications ha...

Re: Aplication acknowledgement not received after nearly 4 months

But don't you think things could be done differently? It seems that the whole service is inefficient to the very core. For example, in the UK it took no more than 6 months to make a decision prior to COVID. Meanwhile we're easily looking at a year or more to even get to an advanced stage. Yes, I do...

Re: Aplication acknowledgement not received after nearly 4 months

They have communicated this to you. You were advised that there will be significant delay with returning passports. I waited 5 months and had no problem with it because I read the warning. The country is facing another lock-down. Very unlikely that their capacity will be reduced even further. Be pat...

Oops... forgot to add that you have to deduct entire absence, not only the days over 6 weeks from your calculation if you spent more than 6 weeks per year outside of of Ireland.

Re: Advice needed! Separation while on EU FAM second time

I have searched on this forum, some people say citizenship will hold the application until I get divorce and then EU 5 retention, then EU 3, this would be a disaster.... This is not a "disaster". You may face far more serious consequences by not informing the authorities of your situation.

Re: Advice needed! Separation while on EU FAM second time

I really don't know what will happen.
What is clear is that it'll be better for you if you tell them about your situation before they find out. They may question you even after your citizenship application is finalised. This won't be a good situation for you.

Re: Advice needed! Separation while on EU FAM second time

You must inform the immigration office and the citizenship department of your separation. You marriage and co-living with your spouse is a fundamental basis on which you were given permission. If you fail to inform them, this may result in negative consequences for you in the future. You are require...

Re: *Help Needed* Irish Citizenship by naturalization - Is my calculation of recognizable residency correct?

That's correct. A year is a fiscal year, not a calendar year. If you had a permission from June 2018 to June 2019 then you need to check if you have or haven't had more than 6 week of absence within that period. If you spent 6 or more weeks (42 days) outside of Ireland in that year, you have to dedu...

Re: *Help Needed* Irish Citizenship by naturalization - Is my calculation of recognizable residency correct?

You can enter multiple period for the same permission. Print out the results and make a note next to the absences that those are absences because any period totalling more than 6 weeks per year spent outside of country will not be considered as reckonable residence. Then deduct the absences from the...

Re: *Help Needed* Irish Citizenship by naturalization - Is my calculation of recognizable residency correct?

Best and easiest way to check is to use the residency calculator tool. Enter all your permission stamps as per your registration except for years when you were away for more than 6 weeks per any 12 months of legal residence period. For those enter only the dates when you were physically present in I...

If you keep changing your story so quickly, no one is going to believe you. Creating contradicting posts/rising the same issue via duplicate threads is against the rules of the forum.

Re: Citizenship Applications - Content of Second Letter

Criminal background checks are conducted during the second stage of processing. The wording may differ, some letters will contain a phrase about second stage, some don't. It's normal, people are sent both variants. I applied on the basis of residency, however sent my application to the CMU1 because ...

You've changed your story so quickly. Not even a full 24 hours passed since:

Better stop acting a fool and creating contradicting posts. It's pointless and simply disrespectful.

Re: Citizenship Applications - Content of Second Letter

I believed I haven't received the second letter at all, but from your scan I see that it's actually exactly what I received together with my passport when it was returned after the submission of my application. You've probably received a wrong letter. My first one is just an acknowledgement of the ...

Re: 'Three different proofs of residence for each year of residence claimed' Is this inclusive?

Three proofs for each of the fiscal year will be enough. You need to provide at least three proofs for each of the 12 month periods that you have spent living in Northern Ireland showing both your and your spouse's names. If they need more they will send you a letter and give you a month to provide ...

Your father most likely was registered in FB registry by his parents. Just because your father doesn't have his FBR certificate, it doesn't mean he never had it. It might have been lost. He needs to get a replacement from Department of foreign affairs and trade. If you were born abroad, you will als...
