It was after my application I gave birth. No cover letter was given. As we found out in the first lockdown and then the whole visa backlog etc.

Can I as a British born claim universal credit as I have a 8month old and my previous work have cut hours due to pandemic, I was his sponsor. However when reapply he meets his own financial requirement, I only sponsored as it was easier to gather documents being employed, he is self employed.

What were the reasons given for the rejection? we did not put down he had a caution, day we put in application we got a court case letter the day after. I know was just very bad timing. Had to go for an emergency trip and financially couldn’t do it. It is a lot of money!
Also another question
1. do we need to put a cover letter??
2. Social ties? We put no and explained why.
