Can anybody tell asylum seeker reporting started or not??
Yes, with reduced hours in fewer centres than before Covid. See here: https://www.gov.uk/immigration-reporting-centres

Re: asylum fresh claim processing time

Hello all,

Just wanted to let you know that my partner finally got his refugee biometric card, many months later than we ever expected!

For those still waiting, please take hope from the fact that this proves the Home Office are actively issuing them. Your time will come, good luck.

Re: asylum fresh claim processing time

Hi Senu, my partner is still waiting for his decision/BRP too. I am really wondering if the Home Office have unofficially put all new refugees' BRPs on hold, to concentrate on other types of visa...

Re: asylum fresh claim processing time

Senu and Bryar, You'll see my post about my partner a few posts back. He got his lawyer to chase the Home Office in early June, and they said they would process his status within a few weeks - but the only thing that happened was that email asking for his photo. They confirmed they received it, but ...

Re: asylum fresh claim processing time

Violet, I am so sorry to hear it. I wish you well - and just try to keep in mind that the end result is the most important thing, even if it takes a long time. My partner got notified in March that he had won his asylum tribunal (which had been in November!), and then in June, UKVI emailed to ask fo...

Re: asylum fresh claim processing time

(Reposting my enquiry in existing topic, as per Moderator's advice) Hello all, Can anyone please tell me how long it is taking for new refugees' confirmation of status and biometric cards to be sent out at the moment? I'm asking for my partner, who found out in March that he had won his case at the ...

Re: Issuing of new refugees' biometric cards

Do you mean the topic entitled "asylum fresh claim processing time"? I thought my enquiry would be considered off-topic there, because it's the implementation of the FTT's decision we are waiting for, rather than a decision on my partner's fresh claim (which was previously rejected). Howev...

Re: Issuing of new refugees' biometric cards

I know, but can anyone in a similar situation this year say how long they had to wait for their BRP, so we have an idea? Have any new refugees at all been issued with status/BRP recently?

Issuing of new refugees' biometric cards

Can anyone please tell me how long it is taking for refugees' biometric cards to be produced at the moment, following a win at the asylum First Tier Tribunal? I'm asking for my partner, who found out in March that he had won his case at the FTT, got asked by UKVI to email in his photo in June, but i...

Re: asylum fresh claim processing time

Not all fresh claims take as long. My partner's fresh claim last year was refused by the HO within a few months of submission, but he subsequently appealed at the first tier tribunal, and won. 9 months from submission to receiving the tribunal's decision. (Unfortunately he's still waiting for his bi...

ILR and police warning (Scotland)

Hello, A friend of mine is a refugee, with 5 year status expiring at the end of December, and he intends to apply for ILR. He was seen by police today with an open can of beer in the city centre, where it is an offence. They have issued him with a printed warning as an alternative to prosecution. It...
