The only response I received was in July last year a 10 weeks letter with the assurity that my file will be sent to the minister for decision. That 10 weeks time finished ...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

Decision to get only when it's ordered by a judge, which may go beyond 4-6 months during current working climate. By then, dept may already announced a decision. This is called SYSTEM. Like it it not, it's designed as such by those we maybe aware of.... Well the forum dosent allow to show names , b...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

Sorry to hear that. Has your lawyer advised why that is? It's so odd as it's a court order. Is it as a result of the pandemic? What are your options now legally speaking? [Based on legal advice] The current situation at the department is there are a lot of delays. A straightforward application can ...

Sorry to hear that. Has your lawyer advised why that is? It's so odd as it's a court order. Is it as a result of the pandemic? What are your options now legally speaking? She went back to the barrister and he told her that’s she should sent a warning letter to the department for a decision in 2 wee...

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

[Based on legal advice] The current situation at the department is there are a lot of delays. A straightforward application can take 18 months. (Apparently nationalities from Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan are known to wait longer). There was already a backlog ahead of the 2019 court challenge,...

Re: Settlement Agreement for a decision in 8 weeks time

When you go on public or to media about this, make sure to be bold enough to use the same exact language and to have enough proof of systematic alcohol abuse and corruption practices of the "scumbags in the offices of this country" to back up your claims. Agree with vorona ... I am in the...

Re: Settlement Agreement for a decision in 8 weeks time

Really sorry to hear that after all that much going through with fees, waiting, etc.. I can understand your frustration, as it was never about the approval but to compel the department to issue a decision. This is seriously disgusting and disgraceful. You might consult with your solicitor and raise...

Re: Settlement Agreement for a decision in 8 weeks time

Thanks for your prompt response. I honestly don't see that happening resulting in a breach of JR terms agreement out of Court settlement. You are more likely to hear back soon and that may include last day of the terms agreed. I'm sure you would have contacted your solicitor about this but you may ...

Hi MiMi,

Is this possible for you to check with Police in Belfast that you can travel to Dublin to submit this document? Hope they will allow (as I can see you waited for these 2 + years) all the very best 👍🏻
I don’t think they will say nothing if your going to submit a important letter

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

No problem! On a related note: I've noticed people have different theories about how long one should wait before going through the courts to force a decision - I've seen everything thrown out 4, 3, 2, 1.5 (years) etc... This all seems like a personal preference as opposed to what the courts favour....

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

I'm with Paddy on the court process. I wish I knew about it before - the process leading up to taking it to court takes time (get an FOI, Find a lawyer, lawyer sends threatening letters to INIS, Set court date, wait for a decision etc). Why do you advise people to go via JR after waiting for 2+ yea...

FOI it’s nothing important the best way when you wait for over 2 years or more you should ask for JR go to high court to get a quick decision if you know that you might be clear in this country you better open a case through the solicitor Have u got ur decision by JR?
