Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Hi, Just wanted to thank you all for keeping everyone updated. It really meant a lot to me. I would gone crazy if I was the only one waiting this long time. But, the wait is finally over and I can now start applying for my passport. My dates are as follows, though I had provided them before; Applica...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Hi Everyone I've recently stumbled upon this website and I must say it has so many useful reads! I got approved on the 16th of July 2020 and still waiting for an invitation letter for my ceremony. Like many of you I've emailed the Home office and local council but been told to wait. Is anyone able ...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

OK, I have futher refined the model using additional info from the timeline threads and based on: four May approvals and one June approval where the approval dates and ceremony invite letter dates are both disclosed (2x 14 May/7 Sep, 20 May/8 Sep, 27 May/9 Sep and 9 June/20 Sep) indication that the...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Lol I paid for biometric for my application They used the virus as an excuse to charge an additional £70. But now, we have the newer applicants getting their certificates within weeks. I'm glad they are getting the service they paid for but so should we. Really upset with Home Office. My council bee...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

"I have a funny feeling HO are playing a game" I agree. What is so hard about printing and sending a letter and a certificate? I wonder if the aim here is to lower the number of citizenships granted so it looks good on immigration statistics and the books of the current HO management. It ...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

I have read alot of comments on here. It has nothing to do with council BUT HO. If you just got approval email or letter in August or last week then you need to exercise patience and wait for at least 8 or 12 weeks before complaining.... There are people who got approved since May who are still wai...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Guys, I'm just a bit curious. I believe you all got an email and an approval letter. But I spoke to my lawyer today and was told she didn't get an email. She only got an approval letter on 16th of June and another approval letter in the following week. Kind of weird. Did you all get an email confir...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Contacted HO today. 12 weeks from 7th of August; we should all get our invitation. So not 12 weeks after approval. Well at least something from them. 30th of October let's all celebrate our long waiting invitation.

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

This really really frustrates me. When you call HO on their UK Visa and Immigration helpline, it tells you (automated voicemail), to call on to a different number, if your query is in regards to the delay of ceremony or citizenship. When you call that number, they are like, "oh we don't deal wi...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Hi folks,

We all tried sending HO email and called them numerous times. Has anyone tried sending them a letter? There’s an address on top of our approval letter. Just curious to find out if they are willing to reply.

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Finally got my invitation letter from HO last Thurs, dated 20th Aug. Next hurdle is trying to book ceremony with Luton Council, they are only doing private ceremonies for a measly £100, no virtual or group ceremonies in sight! You can only contact them by email, but getting them to reply is a chall...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Ouch. It hurts. Still waiting. First I lost my chance to apply for a maintenance loan because of my circumstances and now I'm heading towards losing my business on Amazon. They require account verification and only seem to accept passport for identity/ residency proof. I did spoke to the customer su...
