Asking this on behalf of my friend who's about to lodge his second FLR(M) for his wife. They've lived at 5 addresses in 5 different cities over the past 2.5 years (sounds crazy but it's due to work) and only just last week moved into their 5th and hopefully final property. They have ample supporting...
In her country, the woman's pre-marital surname becomes her new middle name (she loses her original middle name), and she takes the new surname from the husband. Example: She was Mary Jane Sanchez and I'm David John Williams, her new passport is in the name Mary Sanchez Williams. UKVI guidance says ...
My wife's previous name was ABC - after marriage she has now taken my surname D and her previous surname C is now her middle name, hence ACD. We have already obtained a new passport from her embassy with this legal name ACD. The embassy does this by default (former surname becomes new middle name). ...

We received our decision letter for FLR(M) 3 days ago, but it had our old address (from the time of application back in May). This is despite updating our address with UKVI in July and submitting a cover letter explaining the change of address, which seems to have been overlooked by the case worker....

Weirdly the earliest available booking in Ipswich was showing 26th August on my portal. That seems to be quite common, I also had the same situation - last week I couldn't see ANY appointments at ANY of the 6 London centres for the next 3 weeks, so had to book another city, but others on Twitter we...
As long as you've correctly uploaded all the documents, there's no need to take print-outs to the centre. They would just be scanning the same documents a second time and it will lead to confusion.
Thanks so at the center did they check the quality of all the documnets as per the checklist of documents? Did you take a colour print out or black and white of documents to the center? We didn't take ANY original documents to the centre, except the passport as proof of ID. Everything had been scan...
A few weeks ago we submitted our documents via the submit button on the UKVCAS website, when we attend the appointment, if there are any problems/mistakes with the documents that were submitted, are the staff at the service point able to make any changes to our documents? Or if we are missing docum...
The "document checking" we encountered yesterday was very brief - it was done at the desk after fingerprints were taken. UKVCAS staff are not employed by UKVI and don't know which documents are required for a successful application. They simply check the quality, i.e. are all documents leg...
We're currently on the FLR(M) route but this info may be useful to ILR applicants: I submitted documents to UKVI via the new "submit" button on the UKVCAS website 1 month ago. At the time of biometric appointment yesterday, we had one extra document to submit - I had uploaded it to UKVCAS ...
Hi, can anybody please tell me that, is it necessary to take bar code page print out with you to attend biometric appointment, I don't got printer, can I just show them barcode by phone , I shall be very grateful if some one reply. The copy on your phone should be fine. My print-out couldn't be sca...
Apologies if this has been answered before, but couldn't find anything when searching. Does the IHS validity start from the date of online payment, or only when the application is approved and further leave to remain is granted? Because of COVID, we paid for IHS back in May but FLR is still waiting ...
Does anyone know what happens if you continue to upload docs after you click submit on the UKVCAS portal? Will they be added to your application after the biometrics appt (or IDV app equivalent)? You will be able to add more documents at your UKVCAS appointment (if you are chosen to attend). Its st...
This new option was available on the UKVCAS website last month - "submit documents to UKVI" - which can only be done once. There was no announcement or guidance as to what it does, but most people assumed it will allow UKVI to start case working the application before the biometrics are su...
Thanks. I'll try to gather documents relating to my parents' property, but hopefully they won't be asked for. We'll argue that all documentation was valid as per the time of submission.
Can you expand on the "since inception of biometrics reuse practice"? As far as I know, there was always a grace period, so after submitting the application online, you had 90 (?) days to submit your biometrics at an appointment. With Covid-19 it's a bit longer, up to 4 to 5 months for som...
and another said it's best to update them to be relevant for your appointment date. Second solicitor is also mildly correct because since the inception of biometrics reuse practice, UKVI may asks the supporting documents even until today which despite being paradoxical still happening. Therefore, t...
It is clearly stated in the ukvi guidance etc that the date if application is the date you submit and pay online and not your biomteric appointment with a third party agent company.
Thank you. So we should be good to update the address and get the BRP sent to parents house
Your supporting documents are relevant only at the date of application online. There is no requirement to upload documents dated AFTER your online submission date. Btw, is this written anywhere in any manuals/guidance/appendices? Just so I can go back and correct the solicitor who advised wrongly.
Thanks. I had conflicting advice from 2 different solicitors, one said the documents only need to be relevant to the date you apply online (even if it was months ago and circumstances changed), and another said it's best to update them to be relevant for your appointment date. The documents I've act...
