Re: 10 years Long Residence excess absence due to pandemic

Many retuned from India and red list countries, even flying via other countries. UKVI is fully aware of non direct routes that were available She has a very weak argument for exceeding the 180 days single absence limit for long residence ilr. She is more than double over the permitted limit. Yes, m...

Can I submit application from outside the UK to register my UK-born baby as a british citizen?

I am a Global Talent Visa holder currently in the UK, and we are expecting a baby (due early next year) who will be born in the UK . We are planning such that my wife shall travel with the baby to our country of origin, India, departing the UK approximately 2 months after birth & after completin...

Re: Do long-term visitor visa holders have to pay health surcharge? If yes, are they eligible for GP reg & NHS treatment

Will the 150% NHS cost be billed directly to them? They can't afford to pay, and will probably have to default on their payment. and would like them to receive similar treatment as I currently have in the UK, just in case they need hospitalisation. They can receive that treatment, but they will hav...

For GTV dependent application, is it possible to intentionally request a shorter visa period than the main GTV expiry?

My GTV visa is valid until Sep 04, 2023 . I am planning to switch my wife into the GTV dependent visa status from within the UK. However, I'd like to intentionally opt for (or request/choose) a lower validity period (than my GTV expiry date of 04 Sep 2023) for her GTV dependent visa/BRP. is this pos...

Re: Do long-term visitor visa holders have to pay health surcharge? If yes, are they eligible for GP reg & NHS treatment

Is the cost of NHS treatment standardised and published somewhere officially? Will the 150% NHS cost be billed directly to them? They can't afford to pay, and will probably have to default on their payment. Be careful. Somebody on here posted they were having to pay their visiting father's NHS debt...

Re: 10 years Long Residence excess absence due to pandemic

She has no quick route to ilr other than what has already been explained in your other gtv dependent topic. I think the 10-year Long Residence route in Sep 2023 might be viable if Home Office recognises the travel related difficulties and the absence can be justified citing the global pandemic and ...

Re: 10 years Long Residence excess absence due to pandemic

There were flights and repatriations flights, which you stated in another topic she chose not to avail of. She made a conscious choice not to return. India suspended all international flights until late July 2020 and started flying rescue missions. My wife didn't want to use them due to the unknown...

Re: What is the fastest route to settlement for my potential GTV dependent wife?

Correct. She applies for a gtv dependent extension before her gtv dependent visa expires. Thank you. How many weeks/months before her current GTV expires can she apply for an extension? It will be a 3 year extension if you have ilr. Sigh. That will be a huge problem. A 3-year extension if I have IL...

Re: What is the fastest route to settlement for my potential GTV dependent wife?

So, as per the official wording, if my wife gets a GTV dependent visa now, she will be able to count the time spent on a PBS Tier 4 student visa towards the 5 years for her ILR, right? My point is that, it doesn't specifically exclude time spent on a Tier 4 student visa! No, you are misunderstandin...

Re: 10 years Long Residence excess absence due to pandemic

Unlikely. The absence requirement is quite strict and discretion is rarely exercised. You may choose to try but it is up to UKVI to decide to whether exercise discretion or not. Even if means no international flights were operating due to a global pandemic? How could she have flown back with flight...

Re: Do long-term visitor visa holders have to pay health surcharge? If yes, are they eligible for GP reg & NHS treatment

They are unlikely to be granted a 2 year visitor visa having only visited the UK once 5 years ago. They need a proven track record before getting a longer term visa. There is no visitor visa option that permits free NHS use. If they use the NHS and default on their payments, they will likely be ref...

Validity of GTV dependent visas after main holder gets ILR & how many months prior to their expiry can they be extended?

I am considering applying a GTV dependent visa for my wife. My GTV BRP expires on 04 Sep 2023 , and therefore I guess that her dependent GTV intial BRP shall also be issued to expire on that same date . Now, the interesting situation. I intend to make a super priority ILR application in August 2022 ...

Re: Do long-term visitor visa holders have to pay health surcharge? If yes, are they eligible for GP reg & NHS treatment

Have your parents visited the UK previously?? Yes. They have visited the UK for 5.5 months from April 2016 through September 2016 on a standard short-term visitor visa. That's why I thought of applying 2-year visitor visa for them now. No. IHS is NOT payable for ANY visitor visa. No, they are NOT e...

Do long-term visitor visa holders have to pay health surcharge? If yes, are they eligible for GP reg & NHS treatment?

I live in the UK on a global talent visa. For my parents, I am considering asking them to apply for a 2-year long-term Standard Visitor Visa. According to the official UKVI gov.uk page here: https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor-visa , it says that: "You can apply for a long-term Standard Visitor...

10 years Long Residence excess absence due to pandemic

My spouse becomes eligible for ILR under the 10-year Long residence category in September 2024. However, there has been a recent big break in the natural continuous residence due to personal & pandemic reasons, as explained below. She departed UK on 05 Feb 2020 to home country, India, to spend t...

No. It is not misleading. One of the requirements for the ILR application is to prove that you have earned money linked to your expert field at some point during your last grant of leave. Quoting relevant UKVI criterion from your post, "You MUST earn money in the UK as a result of your employme...

I just wish to know if the UK Government's 'help to buy: equity loan' scheme (https://www.ownyourhome.gov.uk/scheme/help-to-buy-2021-2023/) is classified as public funds/benefits? Ok. The https://www.gov.uk/global-talent-researcher-academic/academic-or-researcher pathway is pretty hard since the academic position that you will hold need to have a strong leadership component built into the job requirements. It says: Your job offer will need to involve either: directing or lea...
