If the PSW visa application was made before the expiry date of his current student visa then there is a possibility that he can cancel his previous application (visitor visa). You can request the home office to consider the PSW visa in this case. However, if his student visa is already expired when ...

Re: ILR or Long Term Residency Question - Help Please.

If you are here 14 years illegally they you can apply for residency. search for long residence scheme on this forum The problem is that route could take anything up to three years - it is not uncommon. In the meantime the OP would not be able to leave the country, might find it difficult to get a j...

I guess it is not that the parliament doesn't have time for the bill. It is the home office who can not produce the complete draft. They are confused by their own stupid ideas. 8) Or maybe they found that less legislation is better suited to their purpose than more? After revoking a number of parts...

Re: ILR or Long Term Residency Question - Help Please.

Hello Folks, New here. Just have been doing some research, and stumbled on this fantastic Web Site. I have a question. I have applied for ILR or a Long Term Residency SET(O). I came to UK on a student Visa in 1994(1995 and 1996), then when finished school went back home for 3 months in 1996, and ca...

Might be easier to return home however difficult that might be and apply as an unmarried partner from there. I know it's not what you wanted to hear but I'm sure it will be quicker and put and end to the wondering. I think the 14 year rule apps are taking years to resolve but others will advise... ...

Re: Approaching 10 years for ILR - help please!

Hi all, I am currently on HSMP. I first came to the UK on 2 June 1999 on a multiple-entry visitors visa valid for 5 years (i.e. the expiry date of the visa was 2003). I left the UK on 14 November 1999 in order to get a writers and artists visa, which I received just 3 days later as an entry clearan...

I am going to be applying for the PSW visa today. How do the homeoffice return the passport? do they use special delivery?

or is it best I send a pre-paid registered post envelope along with my application to guarntee a timely delivery back to me?

Many thanks

Thanks mate. I will look at the option too. One thing I would like to add is that I work in Registry (the university where I graduated) part-time (where most of the behind the scenes with senate and exam board happens). I have spoken this to my line manager and she is just on her way to the senate m...

My personal view is the letter is not good enough. Others on the forum have tried with the same type of letter without much success. The letter has to be a guarantee of an award. Your letter does not seem to hit the mark as it is not entirely clear that you are guaranteed the award. It looks likely...

Dear Frontier, I appreciate your help. But unfortunately I am still in very much doubt with the letter that was issued to me. If you read above the letter states that the board of examiners has only recommended me for the award and due to confirmed by the sentate in march 2009. My question really is...

I thought the alternative was to provide the letter stating when I was going to be awarded for the psw??? but the letter states the senate can only meet in march. Is the exam board confirmation not enough for the homeoffice? I am not sure if I can extend my visa on a student status as all the board ...
