Hi there,

I am going to send my documents for the passport application, including my citizenship certificate and passports; do I need to include an envelope for return?

Thanks

Re: Naturalization certificate number for the passport application

Hi there, When I want to enter my naturalization certificate number for the passport application, it says the number usually has 7 digits. However, on my certificate, there are two numbers: one at the bottom right starting with 'C:' and having 7 digits ( C XXXXXXX), and the other with 8 digits as '...

People who do not travel as much, I think, would have a more straightforward process.

Re: To prove a five-year stay in the UK

The following timeline is very quick. Date of receipt of acknowledgement by UKVI = 29/11/2023 Documents submitted = 08/01/2024 Date of enrolling biometrics = 08/01/2024 (free I was away in December) Date of receipt of submission confirmation from UKVCAS = 08/01/2024 Date of receipt of approval = 19/...

It sounds like people who applied in January 2024 are starting to receive results.

Re: To prove a five-year stay in the UK

I think that the queue idea is correct as they place applicants in a queue after receiving the online app, and when their time comes, they look at the supporting data provided at biometrics centres.

Re: To prove a five-year stay in the UK

The shortest times from online applications and biometrics appointments are 80 and 41 days, respectively.

This indicates the Home Office's ability to provide results of non-complicated cases in approximately two months.

Re: To prove a five-year stay in the UK

It appears that a two-month timeframe is often displayed if the application is not submitted around Xmas or New Year's.

I know, I meant that it is possible to receive the result in just one month if everything goes well.

Re: To prove a five-year stay in the UK

I just saw someone's timeline for naturalisation below. If we consider the biometrics appointment date, it will be ~1 month and 11 days to receive the result, which is a bit unusual. It looks like they count it from the online application. Date of application: 4 Dec 2023 Method of application: Onlin...

Re: To prove a five-year stay in the UK

Does the time spent waiting for the result begin with the online application or with the submission of supporting documents at the biometric appointment?

Re: To prove a five-year stay in the UK

Thank you. I'm wondering whether it would be beneficial to also include my P45 and P60 forms that I've received thus far, alongside my passports, or if it might be excessive.

To prove a five-year stay in the UK

Hi there, I want to apply for naturalisation as a British citizen. I need to prove that I have been in the UK for at least 5 years. I moved to the UK five years ago and haven't left since. I'm NOT a European citizen. I recently renewed my passport. My question is whether uploading images of my new p...

Updated address on ILR

Hi there,

I am now on ILR, and my address has changed. I am wondering if I need to report it (it looks like online) or if it is unnecessary. I want to apply for British citizenship shortly; if I do not report it, will it affect my application?

Thanks

Re: Referees for British citizenship application

Thank you for this. For example, I'm not happy that they can see my relationship status on the application.

Referees for British citizenship application

And what type of information from my application will be available to these two referees? I mean their ability to ...

Referees still need to sign the form as they won't be able to do that within your application form, and caseworker needs to see they have actually signed.
Thank you for clarifying.

Re: Referee Declaration for British citizenship

Thank you so much for this.

Oddly, HO requests referees' passport numbers, which is a sensitive issue for some people who don't want to share it with others for a variety of reasons.

Referee Declaration for British citizenship

Hi there, I want to apply online for British citizenship through naturalisation online. I must provide two referees. I have a few questions about this: Is this the form below that I need to have my referees fill out and sign? https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/documents/1st_Referee_Declaration...
