They can look at it for sure but probability that someone will refuse her entry because of this reason is rather little. But I dont understand why cant you just report that you changed the employer now? If you are here legally and pay taxes they will not bother too much that you did it too late.

UPDATE Unexpectedly things changed upside down. Someone from central unit of Immigration called my partner saying the case will be overturned as she was treated unfairly. She was not given too much explanation except that all was wiped out from the system and she should not have problems to get back...

Is Post Office a Notary Public

Recently Post Offices started to certify copies of documents. Can I assume these copies will be treated the same way as certified in any other Notary Public offices? Money savings would be huge.

Colombo, you did not say if you are a resident in Slovakia. If you are you can apply in Slovakia, if not you can only do it Sri Lanka or apply for a visa under EU law in the UK. The latter will however take a long time to process and if the Home Office already contacted you about breaching the law y...

Can you please clarify something for me? Would it make sense for my partner to apply for EEA Family Permit when she gets back to Australia in 2 days? It is usually other way round and couples apply for EEA FP before EEA2 visa. We did opposite and now EEA2 application is being processed but she still...

Well, that is the problem. I called the Home Office on numerous occasions and we were told that she could work.

Unmarried partner visa processing - entry refused!!!

Hi, to make it short my Australian partner has been refused entry to the UK after a short trip abroad. Our EEA2 application is being processed but she got her passport to go for friend's weeding in Poland. The ground to refuse the entry was that she mentioned she had some part time job since we appl...

Bamarek, I am confused. This letter shows there is a right to work. IS your letter different? Victoria Victoria, I am confused too. Just few minutes ago I called HO and again a person on the other side confirmed a non-EEA partner of EEA citizen has a right to work while the application is being pro...

You're right but HO tries to show you that they have a right to define this rule as they want and I would have to take British government to the EU Tribunal to question the rule of 2 years of cohabitation.

Do you know what EU regulation says about the right to work once you lodge the application?

Runie, don't feel sorry. It is actually great that you posted this letter. It may open people's eyes and make them realise that what HO tells you over the phone is often cr@p. I would still want to know where I'm standing though...

Thanks for that. I understand that the UK does not have any obligation to implement the EU rules in accordance to the way how an evidence of a "durable relationship" is accepted but freedom to work while the application is being dealt with is a bit different matter. Surely there should be ...

What??? I called Home office 10 times and they all said my Australian partner has a right to work while our EEA2 application will be dealt with. From what you posted (big thanks for the scan) it seems it is impossible. Can anyone explain it please....? Also, is there any initial check done by HO bef...

Do not even try to leave passport with Home Office! You could possibly get to the UK as US citizen but other countries will not accept any residency cards. I know that having a good reason you can request to get your passport verified when you go there by person or you can get it back quickly after ...

On submitting the EEA2 application a letter should be issued confirming the ability to work while the application is being processed. Thank you for the reply John. Just to clarify about the work permit. Does it mean she will be able to work as soon as the application is lodged? We were told it is n...
